Kenny Feeney
Kenny Feeney (born 1991) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward for the Mayo senior team. Born in Tooreen, County Mayo, Feeney first played competitive hurling with Ballyhaunis Community School. He simultaneously came to prominence at juvenile and underage levels with the Tooreen club. Feeney subsequently enjoyed success with the club's senior team, winning a Connacht medal in 2017. He has also won two county championship medals. Feeney made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Mayo minor team, before joining the under-21 team. He made his senior debut during the 2010 league. Tooreen Hurling Club
Tooreen Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Tooreen, County Mayo, Ireland. Tooreen is located in the parish of Aghamore approximately four miles (6.4 km) from the town of Ballyhaunis in eastern County Mayo which is the county's hurling stronghold. Players are drawn from the Tooreen area as well as from the Aghamore, Ballyhaunis, Kilkelly and Knock areas. The club is affiliated as an Exclusive Hurling Club to the Mayo County Board. History The club was formed in 1957 and celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2007. The club won its first Mayo Senior Hurling Championship Title in 1966 and is the holder of 30 county senior titles and is the current (2019) champion. In 2017, the club became the first Mayo team, and the first from outside Galway, to win the Connacht Intermediate Hurling final. Christy Ring Cup
The Christy Ring Cup () is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Originally introduced as a second-tier competition, it is currently the third tier overall in the inter-county hurling championship system. Each year, the champions of the Christy Ring Cup are promoted to the Joe McDonagh Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup. Kildare are the 2022 title-holders. The competition is named in honour of Christy Ring, a legendary player from Cork. The Christy Ring Cup, which was introduced in 2005, replaced the All-Ireland B Hurling Championship (1974-2004). Connacht Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Connacht Intermediate Hurling Championship is an inter county competition between the Intermediate Hurling county teams in the province of Connacht in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Connacht Council. The winners of the Connacht Intermediate Hurling Championship each year progress to play the other provincial champions for a chance to win the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship. The competition has not been played since 1999, and Galway has represented the province in the All-Ireland series. The other counties in the province are not strong enough to field a second hurling team for this competition. 2016 Nicky Rackard Cup
The 2016 Nicky Rackard Cup was the 12th staging of the Nicky Rackard Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. The competition began on Saturday 23 April 2016 and ended on Saturday 4 June 2016. Roscommon were the 2015 champions and were promoted to the Christy Ring Cup. On 4 June 2016, Mayo won the Nicky Rackard Cup following a 2-16 to 1-15 defeat of Armagh. It was their first Nicky Rackard Cup title. 2019–20 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The 2019–20 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship was the 16th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's intermediate inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 12 October 2019 and ended on 18 January 2020. On 18 January 2020, Tullaroan won the championship after a 3-19 to 5-12 defeat of Fr. O'Neill's in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. This was their first ever championship title. Declan Dalton from the Fr. O'Neill's club was the championship's top scorer with 5-42. Nicky Rackard Cup
The Nicky Rackard Cup (; often referred to as the Rackard Cup) is the fourth tier of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Each year, the champion team in the Nicky Rackard Cup is promoted to the Christy Ring Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Lory Meagher Cup. The Nicky Rackard Cup, which was introduced for the 2005 season, is a recent initiative in providing a meaningful championship for third tier teams deemed "too weak" for any higher grades. The winners of the championship receive the Nicky Rackard Cup, named after former Wexford hurler Nicky Rackard regarded as one of the greatest hurlers of all time. The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT; ga, Institúid Teicneolaíochta na Gaillimhe-Maigh Eo) was an institute of technology, located in Galway, Ireland. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league.
