Kenneth P. Kerr
Kenneth P. Kerr (born January 28, 1957) is an American politician. He is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates. He represents District 3B, which covers parts of Frederick County. He was previously a member of the Frederick County Board of Education from 2016 to 2018. Early life and career Kerr was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 28, 1957. He attended Frederick Community College, where he earned an A.A. degree in general studies in 1976. While at Frederick Community College, he met his wife in a philosophy class, who he married in 1984. He also attended Hood College, where he earned a B.A. degree in music in 1981. After graduating from Hood College, he worked as a fourth grade teacher for Frederick County Public Schools from 1983 to 1986. Maryland House of Delegates District 3B is one of the 67 districts that compose the Maryland House of Delegates. Along with subdistrict 3A, it makes up the 3rd district of the Maryland Senate. The 2018 Maryland House of Delegates elections were held on November 6, 2018, as part of the biennial United States elections. All 141 of Maryland's state delegates were up for reelection. Prior to the election, there was little doubt that Democrats would hold their majority in the chamber. Maryland's House of Delegates has had a Democratic majority since the elections of 1920, and it remains a solidly Democratic in elections at both the national and state level. Still, there was some discussion about whether or not Republicans would be able to make inroads in the chamber, especially considering that popular incumbent governor Larry Hogan was running for reelection at the top of the ticket simultaneously. Wor–Wic Community College
Wor–Wic Community College is a public community college in Salisbury, Maryland. The college's name is a portmanteau of Maryland's Worcester and Wicomico counties. It was founded in 1975 and operated as a "college without walls" in the two counties for 20 years before constructing a campus in Salisbury in 1994. In 1989, state legislation was enacted to allow Somerset County residents to attend Wor-Wic at the in-county tuition rate.
