Kenneth Jaliens (born 4 October 1957 in Paramaribo) is the current technical director of the Suriname national football team. Sport Vereniging Voorwaarts is an association football club from Paramaribo, Suriname, which currently play in the Surinamese Topklasse. History Foundation Founded on August 1, 1919 by a group of school kids, primarily from the Hendrikschool, who had decided that they wanted to continue to play organized football in the club associations, following the completion of their studies. The club was founded at the parents' house of 13 year old club member Bob Verhoeven in Fort Zeelandia. SV Transvaal
Sport Vereniging Transvaal is a Surinamese association football club, which currently play in the Eerste Divisie, the top flight of football in Suriname. They play their home games in Paramaribo at André Kamperveen Stadion to a capacity of 7,100. The team is one of Suriname's most successful, having won their first league championship in 1925, and having won a total of 19, good for second most in Suriname after Robinhood. Transvaal have also won the Beker van Suriname (Surinamese Cup) three times and the Suriname President's Cup twice (1997 and 2008). The biggest international successes were in 1973 and 1981, both resulting in CONCACAF Champions Cup victories. The 2007 Caribbean Cup (known as the Digicel Caribbean Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the fourteenth edition of the biennial Caribbean Cup, the finals of which were contested in Trinidad and Tobago between 12 January and 23 January 2007. The four semifinalists (Cuba, Guadeloupe, Haiti, and hosts Trinidad and Tobago) qualified for the 2007 edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. In all, 24 of the eligible countries participated (5 did not enter and 1 withdrew). Haiti eventually won the tournament despite having to qualify for the finals through a play-off of third-place teams from the second round and finishing second in its final-round group. 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualification (CONCACAF)
The CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Association Football) qualification stage for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa consisted of 35 national teams competing for the three berths given automatically to CONCACAF by FIFA. The United States, Mexico and Honduras qualified. The fourth-place finisher, Costa Rica, played a two-game playoff with the CONMEBOL fifth-place finisher, Uruguay, for a possible fourth berth. Kew Raffique Jaliens (born 15 September 1978) is a Dutch former footballer who played as a defender. Club career Sparta Kew Jaliens started his career at Sparta and made his league debut aged 18 in a 2–1 away win over FC Groningen on 25 May 1997. In the following 1997–98 season, Jaliens became a regular in the starting lineup. He finished his career at Sparta with 68 league appearances scoring 4 goals. Willem II Jaliens signed for Willem II in 1999 and made his league debut on 28 August in a match against FC Den Bosch.
