Kenji Nakamura
Kenji Nakamura (中村 健治 ''Nakamura Kenji''; born March 25, 1970) is a Japanese anime director. He is best known for directing the critically acclaimed anime series '' Mononoke'', '' Control'', ''Tsuritama'' and '' Gatchaman Crowds''. Career After graduating from university, Nakamura worked as a salaryman for several years before entering the anime industry at Toei Animation. Originally an animator, he quit due to tendinitis and instead worked his way up the production process to become a director. He has since moved on to be a freelance director. Iriya No Sora, UFO No Natsu
is a Japanese sci-fi light novel series written by Mizuhito Akiyama with illustrations by Eeji Komatsu that centers on the relationship between Kana Iriya, a high school girl who has to fight alien invaders, and Naoyuki Asaba, a member of the school newspaper club and one of her few friends. There were four light novels published by MediaWorks under their Dengeki Bunko imprint; the series was once nominated for the Seiun Award. Later, a six-episode original video animation adaptation was created based on the novels; the DVDs were released in Japan between February 25 and July 29, 2005. Karas (anime)
is a Japanese six-part original video animation series. Tatsunoko Productions produced it to commemorate its 40th anniversary of anime production. Each ''Karas'' episode was first televised in Japan as a pay-per-view program from March 25, 2005, to August 3, 2007, before being released onto DVDs. Manga Entertainment compiled and released these episodes as two feature length, direct-to-DVD films for the English market. The story follows Kimimaro Yoga, an economics student who is introduced to the alternate reality of the Financial District, where people bet their own futures in battles. Entres—the series' term for the fighters—can accumulate large quantities of money by winning but they will have their futures altered if they lose. As the story proceeds Kimimaro starts to perceive the effects of the Financial District's existence in the real world. The anime was directed by Kenji Nakamura, who was given the opportunity to create a storyline for an original series.
