Kendall Trainor
Kendall Trainor (born July 8, 1967) is a former All-American placekicker for the University of Arkansas in 1988. Trainor was an All-State selection for Fredonia High School under head coach Gene John and helped them to the 1983 Class 4A State Championship before he graduated in 1985. In college, he led the nation in field goals per game as a senior in 1988 under head coach Ken Hatfield. Trainor, in addition to setting five school records, including most FG in a game, was a first-team All-Southwest Conference selection following his senior year and a first-team All-American on teams selected by the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, the Walter Camp Foundation and ''The Sporting News''. In 1989 he set the Southwest Conference Record for most successful FGs in a row with 24 and help the team win the Southwest Conference Championship. Fredonia, Kansas
Fredonia is a city in and the county seat of Wilson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population of the city was 2,151. The city was founded in 1868, and saw considerable expansion in the early 20th century, with a fossil fuel boom. History Fredonia was laid out in 1868 near a large hillock located along the St. Louis & San Francisco Railway in southeast Kansas. It was named after Fredonia, New York. The first building on the town site was a general store, erected in 1868, on the southwest corner of the town square, soon followed by a simple courthouse and hotel. The first post office was established in August 1868. The Gold Dust Hotel was completed in 1885. It became a booming town with an emphasis on large industry. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed on outstanding athletes in the United States who are considered to be among the best athletes in their respective sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. The Sacramento Surge was a professional American football team that played in the World League of American Football (WLAF) in 1991 and 1992. The team played its first season at Charles C. Hughes Stadium, Hughes Stadium in Sacramento, and the second season in Hornet Stadium (Sacramento State), Hornet Stadium on the California State University, Sacramento, Sacramento State University campus. It was owned by Managing General Partner Fred Anderson (football owner), Fred Anderson and the General Manager was Michael F. Keller. The 1989 NFL draft (also known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting) was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. The draft was held April 23–24, 1989, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. Four of the first five players selected in the draft – quarterback Troy Aikman, running back Barry Sanders, linebacker Derrick Thomas, and cornerback Deion Sanders – would be inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
