Ken Nelson (British Record Producer)
Ken Nelson (born 6 February 1959) is an English record producer, who was born in Liverpool. After several years working on demos and independent artists, he achieved success with Gomez, and worldwide success with the first Coldplay recording. He has also worked with Badly Drawn Boy, Howling Bells, The Charlatans, Kings of Convenience, The Orange Lights, Ray LaMontagne, Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini, and Deadbeat Darling. He has won three Grammy Awards, two Mercury Music Prizes, and was "Music Week" magazine's 'Producer of the Year' in 2003. ''Howling Bells'' is the self-titled debut album by London-based Australian indie rock band Howling Bells. It was released through Bella Union in the UK on 8 May 2006. The album was produced, engineered, and mixed by Ken Nelson (British record producer), Ken Nelson and recorded at Parr Street Studios, Liverpool, in early 2005. ''Howling Bells'' was predominantly written by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Juanita Stein, with the majority of its themes revolving around her relationships and feelings of affection. Most of the songs were demoed in Australia but all were recorded in England, as the band relocated there to work with Ken Nelson. Five singles were released from the album, four of which appeared on the UK Singles Chart. The album peaked in the Top 100 in the UK and just outside the Top 50 in Australia. ''Pushing the Senses'' is the fifth studio album by Welsh Rock music, rock band Feeder (band), Feeder. It was released on Echo Records, Echo, Liberation Music and PIAS Recordings, PIAS on 31 January 2005 in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, while being released on Pony Canyon in Japan on 10 February 2005. Feeder (band)
Feeder are a Welsh rock music, rock band formed in 1994. Scoring 20 UK top 40 singles and 13 UK top 40 albums to date in a career spanning three decades. Feeder are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the UK Britpop scene. At the peak of their commercial success, they won two Kerrang! ''Liquid Skin'' is the second album by English rock group Gomez, released on 13 September 1999 by Hut Records. Following the release of their debut studio album '' Bring It On'' (1998), the band began recording their follow-up between August 1998 and June 1999 at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, and Abbey Road Studios in London. Gomez were allowed to self-produce the sessions after their label heard the strength of their demos.
