Ken Martin
Kenneth Nathan Martin (born July 17, 1973) is an American politician serving since 2025 as chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Martin formerly served as chair of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party, president of the Association of State Democratic Committees, and a vice chair of the DNC. Early life and education Martin was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 17, 1973, and attended Eden Prairie High School. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1996 with a BA in political science and history. Chancellor Robert Hemenway presented Martin with the Donald K. Alderson Memorial Award, which recognizes a graduating senior whose campus involvement benefited fellow students and the greater good. Chair Of The Democratic National Committee
The chair of the Democratic National Committee is the party chair and ''de-jure'' leader of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party. The chair manages the day-to-day affairs and operations of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), prepares and conducts the quadrennial Democratic National Convention, and promotes the Democratic "party brand" and political platform, as well as assists in party fundraising and election strategy. The DNC chair also serves as a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention and can affect the outcome over a close primary race only if no candidate receives a majority of pledged delegates. Collin Clark Peterson (born June 29, 1944) is an American accountant, politician, and lobbyist who served as the United States House of Representatives, U.S. representative for from 1991 to 2021. Rick Nolan
Richard Michael Nolan (December 17, 1943 – October 18, 2024) was an American politician and businessman who served as the U.S. representative from Minnesota's 8th congressional district from 2013 to 2019. He previously served as the U.S. representative from Minnesota's 6th congressional district between 1975 and 1981 and was also a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1969 until 1973. Minnesota Amendment 2 (also called Voter ID Amendment) was a proposed legislatively referred constitutional amendment that was on the ballot on November 6, 2012. If approved, it would have required a form of photographic identification before being permitted to vote in Minnesota municipal, state, and federal elections. However, it was defeated with 53.84% voting against and 46.16% for the measure. Minnesota Amendment 1 (also called Minnesota Marriage Amendment or Minnesota Gay Marriage Amendment) was a legislatively referred constitutional amendment proposed to ban marriage between same-sex couples in the state of Minnesota, that appeared on the ballot on November 6, 2012. It was rejected by 51.19% of voters. Legislative approval On May 11, 2011, the Minnesota Senate passed a bill to place a proposed amendment to the state constitution on the ballot that would ban same-sex marriage. The vote was 37–27, with all Republicans and one Democrat voting for the amendment. An identical bill was passed by the House on May 21; the vote was 70–62 with two Democrats and all but four Republicans voting for the amendment.
