General Sir Arnold Burrowes Kemball, KCB, KCSI, (18 November 1820, Bombay – 21 September 1908, London), was a British Army officer who took part in the First Afghan War, the Persian War, the Serbian-Ottoman War and the Russo-Turkish War, and was British representative in the Persian Gulf and Consul at Baghdad. George Kemball
Major-General Sir George Vere Kemball, KCMG, CB, DSO, R.A. (1859–1941) was a British Army officer of the 19th and early 20th century. He was a career officer in the British Army spending most of his career in India and Africa. Early life and family George Kemball was the son of Major-General John Shaw Kemball. He had a younger brother, Arnold Henry Grant Kemball, who commanded the 54th (Kootenay) Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. His father and uncle were both generals in the British Army. His grandfather, Vero Shaw Kemball, had been the Surgeon-General for Bombay. Other ancestors served various regiments of the British Army, including the Black Watch, as well as the Indian Army. In 1889, he married Hattie Elliot. With his brother, he attended Twyford before going to Harrow. Charles Kemball
Charles Kemball CBE PRSE FRS FRSC FRIC (27 March 1923, in Edinburgh – 4 September 1998, in Tyninghame) was a Scottish chemist who served as President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (1988–91) and as President of the Royal Institute of Chemistry (1974-6). He pioneered the use of mass spectrometry. and was a leading expert in heterogeneous catalysis. Life He was born in Edinburgh on 27 March 1923 the son of Charles Henry Kemball FRSE (1889-1964), a dental surgeon, and his wife, Janet White. He was educated at Edinburgh Academy 1929 to 1940. In December 1939 he was awarded a scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge where he graduated MA before gaining two doctorates (ScD and PhD). On 16 October 1946 Kemball sailed on the ''Queen Elizabeth'' from Southampton to New York. This was the first voyage of the newly-converted liner after her serving as a troop ship during WWII. John Kemball
Air Marshal Sir Richard John Kemball, (31 January 1939 – 13 June 2021) was a Royal Air Force officer who served as Deputy Commander of Strike Command. RAF career Kemball was commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1957. He was appointed Officer Commanding No. 54 Squadron in 1976 and became Station Commander at RAF Laarbruch in 1978. He went on to be Commandant of the RAF Central Flying School in 1983 and Commander of British Forces on the Falkland Islands in 1985 before becoming Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Strike Command in 1989. During the First Gulf War, Kemball was chief of staff and deputy commander-in-chief at the British Joint Force Headquarters. He retired in 1993.
