Kelvin Chukwu
Senator Kelvin Chukwu is a Nigerian politician of the Labour Party and Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District. The Labour Party nominated him as a replacement to his elder brother Oyibo Chukwu who was assassinated along Amechi town, three days before the 25 February presidential and National Assembly elections. Senate career Election Chukwu ran for the ticket of the Labour Party following the assassination of his elder brother Oyibo Chukwu who was killed on 22 February 2023, at Amechi Awkunanaw on his way home from a campaign tour in Agbani, Nkanu West. Following the killing, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rescheduled election into the Enugu East Senatorial District to 18 March 2023 to enable Labour Party nominate a fresh candidate for the election. Chimaroke Nnamani
Chimaroke Nnamani (; born 30 May 1960) is a Nigerian medical doctor and politician from Enugu State. He was elected Governor of Enugu State in the 1999 Enugu State gubernatorial election from 1999 to 2007. He subsequently served as a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator for Enugu East Senatorial District from 2007 to 2011 and was re-elected in 2019. The 2023 Nigerian Senate elections were held on 25 February 2023 in all 109 senatorial districts where voters elected senators using first-past-the-post voting.
