Kelly Brazier
Kelly Brazier (born 28 October 1989) is a New Zealand rugby union and Rugby sevens, sevens player. She has played flyhalf, centre (rugby union), centre and fullback (rugby union), fullback for the New Zealand women's national rugby union team, Black Ferns, New Zealand's women's national rugby team, and has competed at three Rugby World Cup (women), Rugby World Cups in 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup, 2010, 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup, 2014, and 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup, 2017. She has represented Otago Rugby Football Union, Otago, Canterbury Rugby Football Union, Canterbury and the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union, Bay of Plenty in the Farah Palmer Cup. Brazier has also represented the New Zealand women's national rugby sevens team, Black Ferns sevens team in the Olympic Games, the Rugby World Cup Sevens, the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, Women's Sevens Series, and the Commonwealth Games. 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup
The 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup was the eighth edition of the Women's Rugby World Cup and was held in Ireland in August 2017. New Zealand became the 2017 champions by beating England 41–32 in the final on 26 August. Matches were held in Dublin and Belfast. The pool stages were held at University College Dublin with the semi-finals and finals held at Queen's University and Kingspan Stadium in Belfast. Rugby World Cup Sevens (RWCS) was the former quadrennial world championship of rugby sevens, a variant of rugby union. Organised by World Rugby, it consisted of men's and women's tournaments, and was the highest level of competition in the sport outside of the Summer Olympics. The first tournament was held in 1993 in Scotland, and was won by England. The winners of the men's tournament were awarded the Melrose Cup, named after the Scottish town of Melrose where the first rugby sevens game was played. A women's tournament was introduced at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai, and was first won by Australia. Rugby sevens has been played at every Commonwealth Games since its first appearance at the 1998 edition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Rugby sevens was an optional sport that was included for 2002 and 2006; it was then made a 'Core' sport by the Commonwealth Games Federation, necessitating its appearance at all future games from the 2010 Games onward.
