Keith Zaldivar
Keith Howell "Pong" D. Zaldivar (born June 25, 1996) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Zaldivar played high school basketball for the Adamson Baby Falcons. He was a center of the Adamson Soaring Falcons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), with Jerom Lastimosa playing the point. In May 2022, the Magnolia Hotshots drafted Zaldivar 12th overall. They would later let go of him, leading to his signing of a new contract with the Converge FiberXers on his sophomore year in the professional league PBA. On February 7, 2024, Zaldivar got the most votes from fans for the PBA All-Star RSJ game. The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of twelve company-branded franchised teams. Founded in 1975, it is the first professional basketball league in Asia and is the second oldest continuously professional basketball league existing in the world after the NBA,Bartholomew, Rafe. Jerom Lastimosa
Jerom Lastimosa (born July 1, 1998) is a Filipino basketball player. He played college basketball for the Adamson Soaring Falcons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) from Season 81 to 86. He has also played for the Philippines men's national basketball team. Early life Lastimosa was born in Dumaguete as the fifth out of six children. His mother is a wet market vendor while his father is a tricycle driver. When he was younger, Lastimosa would play in ''panalay'' tournaments. These would be tournaments in which he would play basketball against other amateurs or even ex-pros for an agreed-upon fee, depending on the player's experience and talent level. A scout saw him in the 2017 Unigames (an annual sporting competition for nationwide schools) and recruited him to play for Adamson in Manila. The PBA All-Star Game is an exhibition game hosted annually by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), matching the league's star players using various formats. It is the featured event of PBA All-Star Weekend. The All-Star game was first staged at The ULTRA on June 4, 1989. The starting lineup for each squad is selected by a fan ballot, while the reserves are chosen by a vote among the head coaches of the league's teams. If a selected player is injured and cannot participate, the league officials select a replacement. The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup is a tournament that does not allow teams to hire foreign players or imports. Before 2004–05 season, the tournament was then known as the PBA All-Filipino Cup. It is considered the most prestigious of the three conferences in a PBA season. The San Miguel Beermen are the conference's current defending champions. Since the 2006–07 season, the Jun Bernardino Trophy were awarded to the champions. The trophy is worth PHP 500,000 and is made up of 24-karat gold plate, which the champions can keep for a year. After that, they will receive a smaller replica of the trophy.
