Keith Williams (developer)
Keith Williams, (22 September 1929 – 19 October 2011) was an Australian entrepreneur who developed some of the best known attractions in Queensland, including Sea World (Australia), Sea World, Hamilton Island (Queensland), Hamilton Island and Port Hinchinbrook. Williams was a self-made multimillionaire who began his career in the 1960s with the creation of a water skiing park in Surfers Paradise. This was followed by a raceway, Sea World, and Hamilton Island, Daydream Island and Port Hinchinbrook in the Whitsunday Islands. Williams earned a reputation as both a visionary and a pioneer, and as the bane of environmentalists. He was born in Brisbane on 22 September 1929. Hamilton Island, Queensland
Hamilton Island is an island of the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, Australia. It is approximately north of Brisbane and south of Cairns. It is the largest inhabited island of the Whitsunday Islands and a popular tourist destination all year round being one of the only islands in the Great Barrier Reef with its own commercial airport, with direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Geography Like most in the Whitsunday group, Hamilton Island was formed as sea levels rose which created numerous drowned mountains that are situated close to the east coast of Queensland. Sea World is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, and a theme park located on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It offers attractions such as rides and animal exhibits, and promotes conservation through education and the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife. Cardwell is a coastal town and rural locality in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Cardwell had a population of 1,309 people. Geography The Bruce Highway National Highway 1 and the North Coast railway line are the dominant transport routes; connecting with the Queensland provincial cities of Cairns and Townsville. Whitsunday Islands
The Whitsunday Islands are 74 continental islands of various sizes off the central coast of Queensland, Australia, north of Brisbane. The northernmost of the islands are off the coast by the town of Bowen, while the southernmost islands are off the coast by Proserpine. The island group is centred on Whitsunday Island, while the commercial centre is Hamilton Island.
