Keith Peacock (born 2 May 1945) is an English former association football, footballer and coach (sport), manager. He was the first player to come on as a Substitute (association football), substitute in the Football League. Early life Peacock was born in Barnehurst. and educated at Erith School, Erith Grammar School. Playing career Peacock played his entire professional career for Charlton Athletic F.C., Charlton Athletic, making over 500 Football League appearances between 1962 and 1979. In May 1963 he scored in the 2-1 last day of season victory at Walsall F.C., Walsall that kept Charlton in the second tier and relegated Walsall. On 21 August 1965, he became the first Substitute (football), substitute used in the Football League when he replaced injured Goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper Mick Rose after 11 minutes of an away match against Bolton Wanderers F.C., Bolton Wanderers. Barnehurst is a town and Wards of the United Kingdom, electoral ward in Greater London within the London Borough of Bexley. It lies north east of Bexleyheath, and 13.0 miles (20 km) east south-east of Charing Cross. It is separated from North Bexleyheath by the A220, Erith Road. History The town came into being after the sale of land in 1881 to build the Bexleyheath Line, Bexleyheath loop line between Lewisham railway station, Lewisham and Dartford railway station, Dartford.
