Keiservarden
Keiservarden is a mountain plateau on top of Veten hill near Bodø, Nordland in northern Norway (not to be confused with Veten near Bergen). It lies 366 meters (1,201 feet) above sea level and is named after German Emperor Wilhelm II, who supposedly climbed the mountain on one of his many visits to Norway on 19 July 1899. It is disputed though whether Wilhelm II really visited the place. The second half of the designation, ''varden'' is a Norwegian word for a pile of stones that indicate a mountaintop as well as the way up there. The plateau offers a great view to every direction. Bodø (town)
(, ) is a List of towns and cities in Norway, town in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The town is the administrative centre of both the Bodø Municipality and Nordland county. It is located on the Bodø peninsula between the Vestfjorden and the Saltfjorden. Bodø is located just north of the Arctic Circle. It is the largest urban area and town in Nordland county and the second-largest town in Northern Norway. The town has a population (2023) of 42,831 and a population density of . Wilhelm II (Friedrich Wilhelm Viktor Albert; 27 January 18594 June 1941) was the last German Emperor and King of Prussia from 1888 until his abdication in 1918, which marked the end of the German Empire as well as the Hohenzollern dynasty's 300-year rule of Prussia. Born during the reign of his granduncle Frederick William IV of Prussia, Wilhelm was the son of Prince Frederick William and Victoria, Princess Royal. Lofoten
Lofoten ( , ; ; ) is an archipelago and a Districts of Norway, traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten has distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches, and untouched lands. Vestfjorden (; sometimes shortened to ''Vestfjord'' in English) is a long fjord or oceanic sea in Nordland county, Norway. The name literally means "the west fjord", although it is called a fjord, it could best be described as a firth or an open bight of sea. The "fjord" lies between the Lofoten archipelago and the Salten district of mainland Norway. The term fjord (from the old Norse meaning firth or inlet) is used in a more general way for bodies of water in the western Scandinavian languages than the more narrow usage commonly used in English. The Vestfjorden flows from the area near the town of Narvik to the west and southwest. ''Hurtigruten'' (), formally Kystruten Bergen-Kirkenes ("coastal route Bergen-Kirkenes"), is a Norwegian public coastal route transporting passengers that travel locally, regionally, and between the ports of call, and also cargo between ports north of Tromsø. Landegode
Landegode (also written as Landego) is an island in Vestfjorden, just north of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The island belongs to Bodø Municipality and has an area of . The highest point on the mountainous island is the tall Rypdalstinden. The island is located about northwest of the town of Bodø and about east of the Helligvær islands. Most of the 48 islanders (in 2017) live in the southern village of Fenes. Landegode Church is also located in Fenes.
