Keila KK
Keila Korvpallikool (English: Keila Basketball School) is a basketball team based in Keila, Estonia. The team plays in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Their home arena is the Keila Health Center. History Keila Korvpallikool was founded in 2010. Keila's first team joined the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League for the 2022–23 season. Keila KK parted ways with Keila Basket in 2024 and will countinue next season separately under their own license in the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and in the Korvpalli Meistriliiga. Korvpalli Meistriliiga
The Korvpalli Meistriliiga ( en, Basketball Champions League), known as the OlyBet Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier level and most important professional basketball league in Estonia. It is controlled by the Estonian Basketball Association. The first Estonian Basketball Championship tournament was held in 1925. During Soviet era (1941–1991) the league was called the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic Championship. After Estonia regained its independence in 1991, the league was reformed as the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). The KML, which is played under FIBA rules, currently consists of eight teams. The current KML champions are Pärnu who won their first Estonian Championship in the 2022 KML Play-offs. 2023–24 European North Basketball League
2023–24 European North Basketball League was the third season of the European North Basketball League, a regional basketball competition patronised by FIBA. It was won by Bakken Bears, after defeating CSO Voluntari in the final 85–81. Teams There were 16 teams participating from 11 countries ( Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Bulgaria, Romania and UK) and the regular season was divided into two groups. The 2023–24 Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, known as Paf Latvian–Estonian Basketball League for sponsorship reasons, was the sixth season of the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, the premier basketball competition for men's teams in Latvia and Estonia. Teams A total of 16 teams are participating in the 2023–24 edition of the league, including the newly established Rīgas Zeļļi. However Rakvere Tarvas left the league. For the second consecutive season, the league is also joined by Ukrainian team BC Prometey, who are the defending champions. The Estonian Cup ( et, Eesti karikas), also known as the Paf SuperCup for sponsorship reasons, is an annual cup competition for Estonian basketball teams. The Latvian-Estonian Basketball League is the highest professional men's club basketball league in Latvia and Estonia; it has been organised since 2018, run by the Latvian Basketball Association and the Estonian Basketball Association. History The league was established in 2018 when the Latvijas Basketbola līga (LBL) and Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) merged. In its inaugural season, 15 teams participated in the league. Märt Kermon
Märt Kermon (born 17 May 1940) is an Estonian basketballer and basketball coach. He was born in Tallinn. In 1965 he graduated from Tallinn Pedagogical Institute's Faculty of Physical Education. He started his basketball exercising under the guidance of Märt Sepik. He was a member of basketball club Tallinna Kalev which won championships in 1967, 1968 and 1971.
