Kees Bol
Cornelis "Kees" Bol (21 September 1916 – 16 September 2009) was a Dutch painter and art educator. His work was exhibited in art galleries and museums throughout the Netherlands, as well as in Paris. Bol's work encompassed landscapes, portraits and still life paintings. His style can be described as figurative and expressive, with a specific feeling for tonal quality. In 1950 Bol was awarded the Thérèse van Duyl-Schwartze Prize and in 1982 he was made Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion. Biography Bol was born in Oegstgeest. Initially he was a florist in his home town. After moving to Eindhoven in 1935, he held corporate jobs at Bata Shoes and Philips. In 1941 he married Toos van 't Hof. During the second world war he turned to art, first studying with Jan Heesters and later on at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague with Paul Citroen, Han van Dam and Henk Meijer.

Oegstgeest () is a town and municipality in the province of South Holland in the western Netherlands. Its population was in . Etymology The portion ''geest'' in the name refers to the Geest, geest lands, which were excavated in the seventeenth century for the benefit of the urban expansion of Leiden. There exists more uncertainty about the 'Oegst' part. There are various stories. The name was formerly often spelled Oestgeest or Oostgeest, which could indicate the geographical location of the village: east of the geest lands. However, the oldest spelling found in a copy of a list of goods of the St. Martin's Cathedral, Utrecht, St. Martin's Cathedral in Utrecht from the tenth century states Osgeresgeest. Design Academy Eindhoven
Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) is an interdisciplinary educational institute for art, architecture and design in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The work of its faculty and alumni have brought it international recognition. History The Design Academy Eindhoven was established in 1947 and was originally named the Academie voor Industriële Vormgeving (AIVE). The first nine students graduated in 1955. In 1997, the Academy moved into the building and changed its name to Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE). In 1999, Lidewij Edelkoort, Li Edelkoort was elected chairwoman of the Academy. Hoogeloon
Hoogeloon is a Dutch village in the commune of Bladel, in North Brabant. Hoogeloon is situated 4 km north of and is around 20 km west of Eindhoven. History Close to the village of Hoogeloon there are many tumulus dating from the Bronze Age, and among the largest in Benelux. To the east of the town are the remains of a Roman villa. Hoogeloon used to be the capital of the municipality of Hoogeloon, Hapert en Casteren. In 1997, it merged into Bladel. Wijk En Aalburg
Wijk en Aalburg is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Altena, about 15 km northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch. History Aalburg was first mentioned in 889 as Alburch. The etymology is unclear. Wijk was first mentioned in 1208 as Wic and means "neighbourhood". Henri Bol
Henri Cornelis Bol (10 January 1945 – 10 July 2000) was a Dutch still life painter, whose work was noted for its realism and ''trompe-l'œil'' technique. Life and career Bol was born and raised in Eindhoven as the eldest son of painter Kees Bol. As a young adult he studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven (1960-1964), where his father was a teacher, and for several years, he also attended the Graphic School in Eindhoven. He also trained at the Technical College in Roermond where he was taught printing. In September 1966, he met Gerrie Klinkenberg, eldest daughter of a police inspector. They were married in April 1968. In the autumn of 1967 he applied successfully for a job as a creative therapist at the hospital for mental health Huize Padua in Boekel. The family lived in Handel. In 1972, the "Blaauw Laaken", a grade 1 listed house build in 1604, was acquired in the old fortified town of Heusden. Frank Dekkers
Frank Dekkers (born 1961 in Nijmegen) is a Dutch painter of landscapes. He studied painting and graphics at the Utrecht School of the Arts. His work is influenced by artist Kees Bol, with whom he interned in 1984. Dekkers makes aquarels, paintings and drawings on location and in particular near rivers. Based on his impressions, he creates woodcuts, lithographs and large paintings in his studio. Els Coppens-van De Rijt
Johanna Elisabeth "Els" Coppens-van de Rijt (born August 18, 1943) is an artist and author from Vlierden, Netherlands. Coppens-van de Rijt was born in Sint-Oedenrode, as one of twins to a Roman Catholic family with 11 children. She studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven with Kees Bol and Jan Gregoor and at the Art Academy of Maastricht. Here she met her husband, sculptor Joep Coppens. Helen Berman
Helen Berman (; born 6 April 1936) is a Dutch- Israeli visual artist. She was a textile designer in the 1960s and has been a painter and occasionally an art educator since the 1970s. She is well known in Israel and has exhibited also in Germany and the Netherlands. She created modern and postmodern art and has engaged in realistic impressionism and lyrical abstract expressionism. Biography Helen Berman was born in Amsterdam and as a young girl survived The Holocaust. She was trained as a textile designer at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
