Charles Keeping
Charles William James Keeping (22 September 1924 – 16 May 1988) was an English people, English illustrator, children's book author and lithographer. He made the illustrations for Rosemary Sutcliff's historical novels for children, and he created more than twenty picture books. He also illustrated the complete works of Charles Dickens for the Folio Society. Keeping won two Kate Greenaway Medals from the CILIP, Library Association for the best children's book illustration of the year, for his own story ''Charley, Charlotte and the Golden Canary'' (1967) and for a new edition (1981) of Alfred Noyes's poem "The Highwayman (poem), The Highwayman". For the 50th anniversary of the Medal (1955–2005), a panel named his edition of ''The Highwayman'' one of the top ten winning works, which composed the ballot for a public election of the nation's favourite. Damien Keeping
Damien Keeping (born 25 May 1972) is an Australian rules football coach who served as the head coach of the Carlton Football Club in its first two seasons in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW), from 2017 to 2018. Coaching career Beginnings After coaching junior boys football at Gisborne Rookies at local level Keeping took up a role as assistant coach with the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup. From there he made his first foray into women's football, moving on to coach the Victorian Metro Youth Girls side as an assistant coach. He later also served at the VWFL Women's Academy. In 2016 Keeping worked as the head coach of the representative side in that year's women's exhibition series. AFL Women's Keeping was appointed as the inaugural head coach of 's AFL Women's side in June 2016. Frederick Keeping
Frederick Keeping (11 August 1867 – 21 February 1950) was a British racing cyclist. He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens. Keeping competed in the 333 metres and 12 hours races. In the 12 hours race, Keeping was one of only two cyclists to finish, covering 314.664 kilometres. He was only one lap behind the winner, Adolf Schmal, who covered 314.997 kilometres. Keeping tied with two others for fifth place in the 333m, with 27.0 seconds. Amateurism protests He kept working as a servant at the British Embassy in Greece. There were objections that he and another rider, Edward Battell, worked for a living. That made them "not gentlemen so they could not possibly be amateurs." Jack Keeping
Jack Benjamin Robert Keeping (born 19 September 1996) is an English former first-class cricketer. Keeping was born at Northampton and was educated at Stowe School, before going up to Anglia Ruskin University. While studying at Anglia Ruskin, he made two appearances in first-class cricket for Cambridge MCCU against Essex in 2018 and Nottinghamshire in 2019. Janet Keeping
Janet Keeping was the Leader of the Green Party of Alberta, serving in this capacity from September 2012 to November 2017. Keeping was born in Montreal and has lived in Calgary since 1973. She attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a B.S. in architecture in 1971, and then studied environmental design. Keeping moved from Boston to Calgary in 1973 and earned a master's degree in philosophy prior to being admitted to the law school at the University of Calgary, where she graduated with a first law degree in 1981. Jeff Keeping (born July 19, 1982) is a former professional offensive lineman/ centre of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Argonauts in the second round of the 2005 CFL Draft. Winston Maxwell "Max" Keeping (1 April 1942 – 1 October 2015), was a Canadian broadcaster. He was vice-president of news and public affairs at CJOH-DT, the CTV station in Ottawa, Ontario. Keeping was anchor of the local evening news broadcast from 1972 until his retirement in 2010 and was the station's community ambassador until March 2012. Biography Keeping was born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland and began his news career in the late 1950s. His early work was as sports director of the St. John's '' Evening Telegram'', a post that he occupied at the age of 16. He then worked with the radio station VOCM and CJCH in Halifax. Alexander Edwin Michael Keeping (22 August 1902 – 28 March 1984) was an English footballer and manager. He coached Real Madrid CF from January 1948 to October 1950. Playing career Southampton Keeping was born in Milford on Sea where he was spotted playing for his home-town club, Milford on Sea F.C., and was signed by Southampton, then still in the Southern League, in the summer of 1919 for a bargain fee of £25. Still only 16, Keeping was registered as an amateur but paid 10 shillings (50p) a week for travelling expenses. Walter Keeping
Walter Keeping MA (1854–1888) was a British geologist and museum curator. Biography Keeping was a master's degree graduate of Christ's College, Cambridge and worked with his father, Henry Keeping, in the Sedgwick Museum. He left the Sedgwick Museum in to take up the Chair of Natural Science in the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth and was subsequently appointed Keeper of the Yorkshire Museum in August 1880. Upon his appointment to the role of Keeper, Keeping was paid £200 a year in wages. He had tried to negotiate a larger sum, but instead accepted the residence of St. Mary's Lodge in the Museum Gardens. Shortly after moving to York he developed a form of paralysis which affected his ability to work; he retired from the museum in 1883 as a result of his 'mental infirmity'.
