Keep Your Body Working
"Keep Your Body Working" is a single released in 2008 recorded by Tony Moran featuring Martha Wash. It is the second number one single on the Billboard (magazine), Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart from Moran's 2-disc CD collection ''The Event'', following "Walk Away." The CD promo-only single reached the top spot on December 22, 2007, and stayed there for two weeks. The track itself is actually a "reworking" of a Disco classic by the group Kleeer, except it was originally titled "Keeep Your Body Workin'," which was written by Kleeer group member Norman Durham. The original peaked at number 54 on the Club Play chart in 1979. Although both versions featured the same chorus and elements, the Moran/Wash version had lyrics that were different from the original version. Martha Wash
Martha Elaine Wash (born December 28, 1953) is an American singer and songwriter. Known for her distinctive and powerful voice, Wash first achieved fame as half of the The Weather Girls, Two Tons O' Fun, along with Izora Armstead, as they sang backing vocals for the disco singer Sylvester (singer), Sylvester including on his signature hit "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)". After gaining their own record deal, they released three consecutive commercially successful songs which all peaked at number two in the dance charts. The duo was renamed the Weather Girls in 1982 after they released the top-selling single "It's Raining Men", which brought them to mainstream pop attention. Kleeer was an American New York City–based funk, disco and post-disco band, which was formed in 1972 under the name The Jam Band, as a backup group to different disco bands and vocalists.
