Barbara Mary Keeley, Baroness Keeley (born 26 March 1952), is a British Labour Party politician. She served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Worsley and Eccles South, previously Worsley, from 2005 to 2024, and has been a member of the House of Lords since 2024. A member of the Labour Party, she served as Shadow Minister for Music and Tourism from 2023 to 2024. She previously served as Deputy Leader of the House of Commons from 2009 to 2010 and served in Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet as Shadow Minister for Mental Health and Social Care from 2016 to 2020. Robert Keeley (1793 – 3 February 1869) was an English actor-manager, comedian and Drag queen, female impersonator of the nineteenth century. In 1823 he originated the role of Fritz (Frankenstein), 'Fritz' in ''Presumption; or, the Fate of Frankenstein'', the first known stage adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel ''Frankenstein''. Early life Robert Keeley was born in London as one of sixteen children, his father being a watchmaker. Kelly pool (also known as pea pool, pill pool, keeley, the keilley game, and killy) is a pool game played on a standard pool table using a standard set of 16 pool balls. Gameplay involves players each drawing one of 16 numbered markers called peas or pills at random from a , which assigns to them the correspondingly numbered pool ball, kept secret from their opponents, but which they must pocket to win the game. Kelly pool is a game, which means that players must contact the lowest numbered on each shot first until the opportunity to pocket their own is presented. Thursday is an American post-hardcore band formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1997. The band consists of Geoff Rickly (lead vocals), Tom Keeley (lead guitar, backing vocals), Steve Pedulla (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Tim Payne (bass), and Tucker Rule (drums). The band's debut album ''Waiting'' (1999) featured original guitarist Bill Henderson, who left in 2000 and was replaced by Pedulla. Keeley Institute
The Keeley Institute, known for its Keeley Cure or Gold Cure, was a commercial medical operation that offered treatment to alcoholics from 1879 to 1965. Though at one time there were more than 200 branches in the United States and Europe, the original institute was founded by Leslie Keeley in Dwight, Illinois, United States. The Keeley Institute's location in Dwight, Illinois, had a major influence on the development of Dwight as a village, though only a few indications of its significance remain in the village. After Keeley's death the institute began a slow decline but remained in operation under John R. Oughton, and, later, his son. The Institute offered the internationally known Keeley Cure, a cure which drew sharp criticism from those in the mainstream medical profession. It was wildly popular in the late 1890s.
