Casimir
Casimir is a Latin version of the Polish male name Kazimierz (). The original Polish feminine form is Kazimiera, in Latin and other languages rendered as Casimira. It has two possible meanings: "preacher of peace" or alternatively "destroyer of peace". There is some debate as to the origin of the prefix, as it could be from the Polish "kazac" (meaning "to preach") but is more commonly cited as coming from "kaziti" (meaning "to destroy"), with "miru" meaning "peace". Kazimieras Būga
Kazimieras Būga (; November 6, 1879 – December 2, 1924) was a Lithuanian linguist and philologist. He was a professor of linguistics, who mainly worked on the Lithuanian language. He was born at Pažiegė, near Dusetos, then part of the Russian Empire. Appointed as personal secretary to Lithuanian linguist Kazimieras Jaunius he showed great interest in the subject, and during the period 1905-12 studied at Saint Petersburg State University. After that, he continued his work on Indo-European language under the supervision of Jan Niecisław Baudouin de Courtenay. He later moved to Königsberg to continue his studies under the direction of Adalbert Bezzenberger. In 1914 he received a master's degree in linguistics. Kazimieras Gediminas Prapuolenis (born 1959), known professionally as Kaz, is an American cartoonist, animator, writer, storyboard artist, and illustrator. In the 1980s, after attending New York City's School of the Visual Arts, he was a frequent contributor to the comic anthologies '' RAW'' and '' Weirdo''. Kazimieras Garšva (born November 11, 1950, in Linkuva, near Pakruojis) is a Lithuanian linguistics, linguist, and the leader of the cultural "Vilnija (organization), Vilnija" organisation. Biography From 1968 to 1973 Garšva studied philology and Lithuanian literature at Vilnius University, and from 1973 to 1976 he was a student at Moscow State University. Kazimieras Jaunius
Kazimieras Jaunius (1848–1908) was a Lithuanian Catholic priest and linguist. While Jaunius published very little, his major achievements include a well regarded Lithuanian grammar, systematization and classification of the Lithuanian dialects, and descriptions of Lithuanian accentuation. Though most of his conclusions on etymology and comparative linguistics were proven to be incorrect, his works remain valuable for vast observational data. Jaunius studied at the Kaunas Priest Seminary and Saint Petersburg Roman Catholic Theological Academy. He was ordained a priest in 1875 and earned his Master of Theology in 1879. Kazys Naruševičius, or Kazimieras Naruševičius (2 March 1920 – 12 October 2004), was a Lithuanian painter, artist, and teacher. He was notable for his position as a well-known representative of professional art and teacher in Panevėžys, Lithuania, before the country declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1990. Biography K. Naruševičius was born into a family of Jurgis Naruševičius and Adela Valantonytė in Dūdonys village. Kazimieras Steponas Šaulys (; 1872 – May 9, 1964) was a Lithuanian Roman Catholic priest, theologian, and one of the twenty signatories to the Act of Independence of Lithuania. He graduated from the Theological Seminary in Kaunas in 1895 and went on to receive a master's degree from the Roman Catholic Theological Seminary in St. Petersburg in 1899. Šaulys was then appointed curate at Saint Peter and Saint Paul parish in Panevėžys. He was involved in a number of political, charitable, and educational institutions; in 1917 he participated in the Vilnius Conference, and signed the Act of Independence of Lithuania in 1918. Kazimieras "Kazim" Vasiliauskas (born 2 August 1990) is a Lithuanian former racing driver. Racing career Karting Vasiliauskas was born in Kaišiadorys.
