Kayseri
Kayseri () is a large List of cities in Turkey, city in Central Anatolia, Turkey, and the capital of Kayseri Province, Kayseri province. Historically known as Caesarea (Mazaca), Caesarea, it has been the historical capital of Cappadocia since ancient times. The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality area is composed of five districts: the two central districts of Kocasinan and Melikgazi, and since 2004, also outlying Hacılar, İncesu, Kayseri, İncesu, and Talas, Turkey, Talas. Kayseri Province
The Kayseri Province () is a province and metropolitan municipality in central Turkey. Its area is 16,970 km2, and its population is 1,441,523 (2022). It borders with Sivas, Adana, Niğde, Kahramanmaraş, Yozgat and Nevşehir provinces. The province is an area that has been linked with mythological stories as well as important figures in Turkish history. It is located in Anatolia, and surrounded by the Mount Erciyes, the Mount Hasan and the Mount Ali. The Ali mountain is named like that in honor of Ali Baba, who is said to have lived in the area. Locals claim that Kayseri is the most peaceful city in the world. Caesarea (Mazaca)
Caesarea ( /ˌsɛzəˈriːə, ˌsɛsəˈriːə, ˌsiːzəˈriːə/; ), also known historically as Mazaca or Mazaka (, ), was an ancient city in what is now Kayseri, Turkey. In Hellenistic and Roman times, the city was an important stop for merchants headed to Europe on the ancient Silk Road. The city was the capital of Cappadocia, and Armenian and Cappadocian kings regularly fought over control of the strategic city. The city was renowned for its bishops of both the Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic churches. Talas, Turkey
Talas is a municipality and district of Kayseri Province, Turkey. Its area is 444 km2, and its population is 169,214 (2022). It is located about 7 km from the city of Kayseri and has evolved from an independent town to a satellite city of Kayseri. Talas is connected to Kayseri by road and by the Kayseray mass transit system. History The history of Talas dates back to 1500 BC. Its name first appears in 1070 AD as Moutaláskê, when it was mentioned for the first time when referring to St. Sabas as Moutalaske. Mount Erciyes
Mount Erciyes () is an inactive volcano in Kayseri Province, Turkey. It is a large stratovolcano surrounded by many Monogenetic volcanic field, monogenetic vents and lava domes, and one maar. The bulk of the volcano is formed by lava flows of Andesite, andesitic and Dacite, dacitic composition. At some time in the past, part of the summit collapsed towards the east. The volcano began to form in the Miocene. At first, a volcano farther east named formed from lava flows. Then, again to the east, large explosive eruptions formed a caldera. During the Pleistocene, Mount Erciyes proper grew inside the caldera together with a group of lava domes. Lateral eruptions of Erciyes may have generated ash layers in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean during the early Holocene. Kadir Has Stadium
The Kadir Has Stadium (), also referred to as RHG Enertürk Enerji Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in Kayseri, Turkey. It is part of a complex of sports venues that are on the outskirts of the city, as part of the Atatürk Sports Complex. Erciyes University (), commonly referred to as ERU, is a public research university located in Kayseri, Turkey. Established in 1978, the university has become a center for education, research, and innovation, contributing to academic and scientific development in the region. Kocasinan is a municipality and district of Kayseri Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,471 km2, and its population is 409,005 (2022). İncesu, Kayseri
İncesu is a municipality and district of Kayseri Province, Turkey. Its area is 874 km2, and its population is 29,120 (2022). The mayor is Mustafa İlmek ( AKP). It has been identified with the ancient town ''Sadogora'' or ''Sadacora''. History At the beginning of the 20th century, Greeks still formed part of the population of İncesu.
