Derreck Kayongo
Derreck Kayongo is an entrepreneur and human rights innovator born on January 25, 1970, in Kampala, Uganda, just before General Idi Amin Dada seized power in a military coup. As violence spread through the country and civil war erupted, Kayongo and his family became refugees in Kenya. He later immigrated to America to attend the Tufts University in Boston and received two honorary doctors in Philosophy. Though most well known as the founder of the Global Soap Project, Kayongo is an expert in environmental sustainability and global health, as well as a former CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2016 the Georgia State Senate passed a resolution recognizing Kayongo's incredible journey from refugee to CEO. Mohammed Kayongo, nicknamed ''The African Assassin'' (born 25 October 1980), is a former Ugandan born professional boxer. Personal life Kayongo was born in Kampala, Uganda. His current residence is Minneapolis, Minnesota. High school Kayongo studied his O-lever (S1 - S4) at Kololo High School from 1993 to 1996, this is where he started his Boxing career. He represented his high school in inter-school and national opens. Mohammed Kayongo won a silver medal in the Men's Light Welterweight division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Martin Kayongo-Mutumba
Martin Kayongo-Mutumba (born Martin Mutumba, 15 June 1985) is a former professional footballer who played as a winger. He is best remembered for his time with AIK, with which he won both Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen in 2009. Born in Sweden to Ugandan parents, he represented the Sweden U17 and U19 teams before making his full international debut for Uganda in 2012. Career Early career Mutumba began his career in Vasalunds IF as a young child, and in 1999 he joined AIK, as a youth player. In the fall of 2002 he made his first appearance with the senior squad against Kalmar FF, playing the last five minutes of the game. In 2004 AIK wanted Mutumba to play with FC Café Opera, a club that would functioned as an AIK feeder club. Unfortunately, Mutumba broke his leg in an indoor tournament he played with some friends before the season had started and he was never able to play any matches for Café Opera.
