Kayode Adams
Kayode Ted Adams (died October 1969) was a student activist at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) who became controversial in 1965 after stabbing then-Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Lagos, Saburi Biobaku. Saburi Biobaku
Saburi Oladeni Biobaku CMG (1918–2001) was a Nigerian scholar, a historian who was among a set of Yoruba historians who followed the pioneering effort of Samuel Johnson in setting the foundations of Yoruba historiography and creating reference notes of indigenous African historical literature. He was a former vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos and served as a pro-chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University. Eni Njoku
Eni Njoku (6 November 1917 – 22 December 1974) was a Nigerian botanist and educator. He was vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos (1962–1965) and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1966–1970). He served in the Nigerian House of Representatives as federal minister of Mines and Power, and was chairman of the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria. He was an emissary at OAU-sponsored peace talks. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa
Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (December 1912 – 15 January 1966) was the first and only Prime Minister of Nigeria, Prime Minister of Nigeria. A dominant figure of Nigerian Independence, he was a conservative Anglophile. His political career spanned almost half of a century. Rustication (academia)
Rustication is a term used at Oxford, Cambridge and Durham Universities to mean being suspended or expelled temporarily, or, in more recent times, to leave temporarily for welfare or health reasons. The term derives from the Latin word ''rus'', countryside, to indicate that a student has been sent back to his or her family in the country, or from medieval Latin ''rustici'', meaning "heathens or barbarians" (''missus in rusticōs'', "sent among ..."). Depending on the conditions given, a student who has been rusticated may not be allowed to enter any of the university buildings, or even travel to within a certain distance of them. Bar Beach was a beach on the Atlantic Ocean along the shoreline of Lagos, situated on Victoria Island (Nigeria), Victoria Island. For a time, it was the most popular beach in Nigeria especially when Lagos was the capital of the country.
