Kay Clark-Miculek is an American sport shooter with two IPSC Handgun World Shoot gold medals in the Open division Lady category (1993 and 1996) and one silver medal (2005 2005 was designated as the International Year for Sport and Physical Education and the International Year of Microcredit. Jerry Miculek
Jerry Charles Miculek Jr. ( ; born September 7, 1954) is an American professional competition shooter known for his achievements in 3-Gun and speed shooting. He holds five officially sanctioned world records in revolver shooting and over 15 unsanctioned records with firearms ranging from 9mm semi-automatic pistols to the .50 BMG Barrett M107 anti-material rifle. Additional accomplishments include rapid-firing 12 shots (including one quick reload) from a six-shooter in 2.99 seconds, fast-shooting six shots in .98 seconds from a handheld Barrett M107, and a 1000-yard off-hand shot with his 9mm Smith & Wesson revolver. Miculek is also a gunsmith who tunes and adjusts his own firearms for optimum function. In addition to a channel on YouTube, he has a reality show, ''Shootout Lane'' on the Outdoor Channel. International Practical Shooting Confederation
The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) is the world's largest shooting sport association, and the largest and oldest within practical shooting. Founded in 1976, the IPSC nowadays affiliates over 100 regions from Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. Competitions are held with pistols, revolvers, rifles, and shotguns, and the competitors are divided into different divisions based on firearm and equipment features. The 1993 IPSC Handgun World Shoot X held in National Shooting Centre at Bisley, Bisley, England was the 10th IPSC Handgun World Shoots, IPSC Handgun World Shoot, and consisted of 5 days with 34 stages, teams from over 27 countries and much rain. The competition had been divided into the Open, Standard and Modified divisions. The Standard division was won by Ted Bonnet of United States, the Modified division by Robert Buntschu of Switzerland and the Open division by Matthew McLearn of United States. 1996 IPSC Handgun World Shoot
The 1996 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XI held in Brazilian Army Barracks, Brasília, Brazil was the 11th IPSC Handgun World Shoot. The event had 609 competitors, teams from 31 nations and consisted of 35 stages. The Open division was won by Todd Jarrett, while the Standard division once again was won by Ted Bonnet of USA. Todd Jarret from Virginia had established himself as a major player before the event, having placed in the top four of the US Nationals every year since 1990 except one. According to himself he had trained well before the World Shoot in Brazil, and was quoted saying "It's really amazing, the harder I work, the luckier I get." The 2005 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XIV held in Guayaquil, Ecuador was the 14th IPSC Handgun World Shoot. Once again, Eric Grauffel took the Open title. He was now an 18-year-old student and had already won many European titles, and after the 2005 World Championship, also three World Shoots. The IPSC US Handgun Championship are yearly IPSC level 3 matches held by the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) run under IPSC-rules (contrary to the USPSA Handgun Championship, which is run under USPSA-rules). Sometimes, all of the pistol IPSC nationals are held at the same time, other years, they have been broken up between different ranges. Steel Challenge
The Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by thSteel Challenge Shooting Association(SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular, large circular and rectangular targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. Steel Challenge has many similarities with IPSC, but has a more TV- and spectator friendly format because of simpler rules and the stages being the same from year to year. Because of this, Steel Challenge has become a place where speed records are set and broken. Lena Miculek is an American professional competitive shooter, firearms educator, and product developer in the firearms industry.
