Kay (singer)
Kristin Kathleen Boutilier (born July 31, 1985) is a singer, songwriter, model and DJ who uses the stage name Goldie Boutilier; as such, she has released three EPs. Born and raised in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, Boutilier moved to Los Angeles at the age of 20 to pursue a music career. After being discovered by OneRepublic member Ryan Tedder, Boutilier signed a recording contract with Interscope under the alias My Name Is Kay and released her selftitled debut EP in 2011. Her name was shortened to just Kay and, following a string of successful features with Tiësto and Steve Aoki, she released her debut album ''My Name Is Kay'' in 2013. "Strangers" (also known as "Stranger") is a song by Canadian singer/songwriter Goldie Boutilier featuring guest vocals from American rapper Pusha T, released as the second single from Kay's self-titled debut EP, although she does not consider the track, or previous single " My Name Is Kay", as singles, but simply refers to them as "songs". Boutilier explained that the meaning of the song is that feeling when "your boyfriend only loves you when you're alone", and lyrically the song talks about Kay's character going to a party, and being treated like a "stranger" by her love interest.
