Kāvya
Kāvya (Devanagari: :wikt:काव्य#Devanagari, काव्य, IAST: ''kāvyá'') refers to the Sanskrit literary style used by Kingdoms of Ancient India, Indian court poets flourishing between c. 200 BCE and 1200 CE. This literary style, which includes both poetry and prose, is characterised by abundant usage of figure of speech, figures of speech such as metaphors, similes, and hyperbole to create its characteristic emotional effects. The result is a short lyrical work, court epic, narrative or dramatic work. ''Kāvya'' can refer to the style or the completed body of literature. Kavitha Rao is a writer, journalist and former lawyer. Her books include ''Lady Doctors'' (2021). Biography Kavitha Rao was born in Bangalore, India, and grew up in the UK, Iran and Bahrain. She studied arts and law at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and was subsequently employed as legal correspondent for ''The Economic Times''. In 1996, she began her journeys around the world and returned to India in 2006. Her account of six of the first Indian female doctors titled ''Lady Doctors'' was first published in India in 2021. In the same year, the book was long listed in Tata Live Literature, Tata's literary awards. Kavitha, Anand District
Kavitha is one of the 65 villages in the Borsad (Vidhan Sabha constituency) in Anand district of Gujarat, a state in Western India. History Prior to India's independence, as mentioned by B. R. Ambedkar, Ambedkar in his writings, Kavitha was one of the villages known for incidents of caste based discrimination against Harijans. In 1935, when the Untouchable caste, untouchables of the village demanded from the Hindus of the village that their children should be admitted in the common school of the village along with other Hindu children, the Hindus were enraged at this outrage and took their revenge by proclaiming a complete social boycott. Ambedkar notes that the Garasia boys of the village threw Kerosene in the well used by the Dhedh and Chamar people. References

''Kavita'' (), also spelled ''Kobita'', is a Bengali poetry magazine that, from the 1930s until 1961, played a central role in introducing modernism into Bengali poetry. It was edited and published by poet Buddhadeva Bose. History The first literary magazine published by poet Buddhadeva Bose was ''Pragati''. He was then living in Dhaka. It was short-lived and the last issue was published in 1929. Four years after migrating from Dhaka to Calcutta in 1931, Buddhadeva decided to publish a literary magazine exclusively for poetry. He named it ''Kavita''. He was then living in 'Golam Mohammad Mansion' in Calcutta city. The first issue of the ''Kavita'' was published from there in the month of October 1935. For the first two years, ''Kavita'' was co-edited by Buddhadeva Bose and Premendra Mitra while poet Samar Sen worked as the assistant editor. Kavitha Telikepalli (born 1974) is an Indian computer scientist known for her research on graph algorithms and combinatorial optimization, particularly concerning matchings, cycle bases, and graph spanners.
