Kauhava Church
Kauhava is a town and municipality of Finland. It is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region, northwest of Helsinki and by the main railway from Helsinki to Oulu. The town has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . The popular amusement park, PowerPark, is located in Alahärmä, Kauhava. The municipality is unilingually Finnish. Geography The surrounding country is flat and well suited to agriculture, alternating between fields and forests. The town probably takes its name from the small river which passes through it. Climate History Kauhava was the home of the Finnish Training Air Wing from 1929 until the end of 2014. PowerPark
PowerPark is a large scale karting and amusement park in Alahärmä, Finland. It is located along Finnish national road 19, Highway 19, north of Seinäjoki and east of Vaasa. The main karting track already resembles an F1 circuit and has previously hosted the Karting World Championship, but they also have a hectare-large indoor track, the largest in Europe. Other than that the resort also contains a restaurant, large hotel, a camping area with cottages and all sorts of amusement rides. PowerPark was founded by Jorma Lillbacka, an entrepreneur and financier from Alahärmä, and according to estimates by ''Talouselämä'' magazine, Lillbacka has invested 100–200 million euros in the amusement park since its establishment. In 2015, PowerPark had as many as 450,000 visitors. In a study conducted by Taloustutkimus Oy, the PowerPark experience park was rated the best leisure center in Finland in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Susanna Haapoja
Aino Maria Susanna Haapoja (November 13, 1966 – May 30, 2009) was a Finnish politician in the Centre Party. Haapoja was born in Kauhava and became a Member of Parliament in 2003 and was elected for a second term in 2007. In 2005, she became the chair of the Kauhava city council. She was an agrologist by training. Haapoja died aged 42 in Tampere after having suffered a cerebral hemorrhage the previous day. Þorlákshöfn
Þorlákshöfn (, ) is a town on the southern coast of Iceland in the Municipality of Ölfus. The town is named after Saint Thorlak who was a bishop at Skálholt. Its main importance is as a port as it has the only harbour on Iceland's southern coastline between GrindavÃk in the west and Höfn in the east. The port serves direct weekly cargo ferries to Rotterdam and Hirtshals operated by Faroe Islands, Faroese Smyril Line. It is also one of two departure points for ferries to the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. Skærbæk Municipality
Skærbæk Municipality was a municipality in Southern Jutland. It covered an area of and had a total population of 7,294 (2005). The municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007) when it was merged with Bredebro, Højer, Løgumkloster, Nørre-Rangstrup, and Tønder municipalities to form the new Tønder Municipality. Rygge
Rygge was a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. It was merged into Moss municipality on 1 January 2020. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rygge. Rygge was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The emblem of Rygge is the Pasque flower. A puukko () is a small traditional Finnish culture, Finnish general purpose belt knife with a single curved cutting edge, solid hidden tang (tools), tang, and usually, a flat spine.
