Katrine Madsen
Katrine Madsen (born 7 March 1972 in Aarhus, Denmark) is a Danish jazz singer. Biography Madsen studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and has worked in Copenhagen on albums with transplanted American jazz artists Ed Thigpen and Richard Boone. In 2002, she founded the Katrine Madsen Sextet and gave their debut concert at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Aarhus
Aarhus (, , ; officially spelled Århus from 1948 until 1 January 2011) is the second-largest city in Denmark and the seat of Aarhus municipality, Aarhus Municipality. Morten Lund (musician)
Morten Lund (born 13 September 1972) is a Danish jazz drummer. He co-leads a trio with Italian pianist Stefano Bollani and Danish bassist Jesper Bodilsen, and he is a member of Paolo Fresu's Devil Quartet and Kind of Porgy and Bess ensembles. As a sideman, he has participated in more than 60 albums. Biography Lund was born into a musical family in Viborg, Denmark, in 1972 to a father who played drums, trumpet, and guitar and was an active part of the city's jazz scene, and a mother who played the flute. At age 6, he started to play drums. He got his first paid job at the age of 15. In 1993 he was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus and only a year later, still a student, he started to play in the internationally recognized Klüvers Big Band. Svante Thuresson
Svante Thuresson (7 February 1937 – 10 May 2021) was a Swedish jazz musician. He started his career as a drummer before joining the band Gals and Pals in 1963. Svante won the national selection and represented Sweden in the Eurovision song contest in 1966 with ''Nygammal vals'' ("New, Old-Fashioned Waltz") and came in second place; he performed with Lill Lindfors. In 2007, Thuresson and Anne-Lie Rydé performed at Melodifestivalen 2007 as a duo in hopes of represent Sweden in the Eurovision, but failed to make it to the final. He died from a long-term illness on 10 May 2021, at the age of 84. Ulf Karl Erik Wakenius (born 16 April 1958) is a Swedish jazz guitarist, known as a member of Oscar Peterson's last quartet from 1997. He was also a member of the Ray Brown trio. Career Wakenius was born in Halmstad and raised in Gothenburg. In the 1980s, he played with Peter Almqvist in Guitars Unlimited, playing during the intermission for 600 million viewers of the Swedish International Finale of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1985. Jesper Bodilsen (born 5 January 1970) is a Danish jazz double bassist. Biography Bodilsen was born in Haslev, Denmark. He was a student of Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Since the end of the 1990s he worked regularly with Ed Thigpen, with whom he recorded various albums.
