Katpagan
Katpagan () is a salt lake in Amangeldi District, Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan. The lake is located to the south of Amangeldi, the district capital. The area is quite desolate, with few settlements. Geography Katpagan is an endorheic lake of the Turgay Depression and is part of the Uly-Zhylanshyk river basin. The lake lies at an elevation of surrounded by numerous small lakes. The Uly-Zhylanshyk flows about to the southwest of the southern shore. Smaller lake Kishi Katpagan lies to the south and Zhaltyrsor to the northwest. Katpagan has a roughly semicircular shape, stretching for over in an east–west direction. The lake fills with snow and groundwater. It freezes at the end of November and thaws by the end of March. Uly-Zhylanshyk
The Uly-Zhylanshyk (; ) is a river in Kazakhstan. It is long and has a catchment area of . It is one of the rivers of the Turgay Depression, flowing across the Amangeldi and Zhangeldi districts of the Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan. Its waters are used for irrigation. Course The river is formed at the confluence of rivers Dulygaly-Zhylanshyk from the right and the Ulken-Zhylanshyk from the left. Both have their sources in the Ulytau range of the Kazakh Uplands. The Uly-Zhylanshyk flows roughly westwards all along its course, sometimes bending northwest for a certain distance and others to the southwest. As it reaches its last stretch the river meanders strongly. Finally it flows into the northeastern shore of Lake Aqköl, an endorheic salt lake located in Zhangeldi District, north of Shalkarteniz. Zhaltyrsor
Zhaltyrsor () is a lake in Amangeldi District, Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan. The lake is located to the ESE of Kabyrga (Kostanay Region), Kabyrga village and to the southwest of Amangeldi, the district capital. Geography Zhaltyrsor is a exorheic lake of the Turgay Depression and is part of the Turgay (river), Turgay river basin. The lake lies at an elevation of within the floodplain of the Tenteksay (Тентексай), a tributary of the Turgay, and is connected to it during spring floods. Lake Katpagan lies to the southeast. Zhaltyrsor stretches for over in an east–west direction. The lake fills with snow and groundwater. It freezes at the end of November and thaws by the end of March. Sentinel-2 is an Earth observation mission from the Copernicus Programme that acquires optical imagery at high spatial resolution (10 m to 60 m) over land and coastal waters. The mission's Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B satellites were joined in orbit in 2024 by a third, Sentinel-2C, and in the future by Sentinel-2D, eventually replacing the A and B satellites, respectively.
