Katie Vandenborre
Katie Vandenborre (née Forward; born September 11, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She currently plays lead on Team Andrea Kelly. She has won four New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts and two New Brunswick junior titles. Career Juniors Vandenborre's first national level event was at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships as lead for Jessica Daigle. There, her team went 4–6 threw the round robin and championship pool, missing the playoffs. She returned the following year with the same team as in 2013 and they once again went 4–6. Women's Out of juniors, Vandenborre joined the Melissa Adams rink. She was the teams alternate before moving up to lead following Lister's departure. They competed at the 2017 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts which was Vandenborre's second, having been the teams alternate the previous year. 2017 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2017 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship of New Brunswick was held January 25 to 29 at the Miramichi Curling Club in Miramichi, New Brunswick. The winning Melissa Adams team represented New Brunswick at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in St. Catharines, Ontario. Melissa Adams of Fredericton would win her first ever provincial Scotties title. She had previously won the 1998 World Junior Curling Championships. Adams had scored four points in the sixth end to defeat Saint John's Sarah Mallais rink in the final by a score of 9-6. The Adams rink represented New Brunswick at the national Scotties, where they had to compete in a pre-qualifying tournament against the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories to enter the main event. 2020 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2020 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for New Brunswick, was held from January 23–26 at the Riverside Golf and Curling Club in Rothesay, New Brunswick. The winning Andrea Crawford rink represented New Brunswick at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and finished with a 4–4 record. Andrea Crawford won her second straight and ninth overall New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts defeating Sylvie Quillian 6–3 in the final. Jestyn Murphy
Jestyn Murphy (born September 21, 1996) is a Canadian curler from Mississauga, Ontario. Career Youth Murphy won the Ontario Bantam championship in 2013, skipping a team out of the Listowel Curling Club. Murphy was a member of the University of Guelph women's curling team. In her first year, Murphy played third for the team, which was skipped by Katelyn Wasylkiw. The team played in the 2015 CIS/CCA Curling Championships, going 3-4. The next season, Murphy skipped the team, and led them to a bronze medal at the 2016 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. Murphy was named then Gryphon Athlete of the Week for the University of Guelph. Women's Murphy was the alternate for the Jacqueline Harrison rink at the 2017 Canadian Olympic Pre-Trials, but missed the playoffs. She played for the team at the 2017 Boost National Grand Slam of Curling event, finishing with a 1-3 record. 2019 Tour Challenge
The 2019 KIOTI TRACTOR Tour Challenge was held from November 5 to 10, at the Pictou County Wellness Centre in Westville Road, Nova Scotia. It was the second Grand Slam event of the 2019–20 season. In the men's tier 1 final, Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario defeated Brad Gushue of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador to win his 5th Grand Slam. In the tier 2 final, Korey Dropkin defeated Tanner Horgan to earn a spot at the 2020 Canadian Open in January. In the women's tier 1 final, Anna Hasselborg of Sundbyberg, Sweden defeated Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba to win her 3rd Grand Slam. Grand Slam Of Curling
The Grand Slam of Curling (formerly branded as the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling for sponsorship reasons) is a series of curling bonspiels that were formerly part of the annual World Curling Tour. Grand Slam events offer a purse of at least Canadian dollar, CAD$100,000, and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the World. The Grand Slam was instituted during the 2001–02 season for men and 2006–07 for women (with the 2006 Players' Championship also considered a Slam), but some of the Grand Slam events have longer histories as bonspiels. Andrea Crawford
Andrea Kelly (born July 31, 1985), previously known as Andrea Crawford, is a Canadian curler from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is a ten-time New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion skip, winning six straight titles from 2009–2014. Career Juniors Kelly's first national experience came at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, where she would represent New Brunswick. Her team would finish round robin with a 6–6 record and a seventh-place finish. Although Kelly would not win the New Brunswick junior championship in 2003, she would attend the 2003 Canada Winter Games, where she won a bronze medal. Kelly would return to the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2004, where her team would improve on their previous record. They would finish round robin in third place with a 9–3 record. Sarah Mallais
Sarah Mallais (born January 11, 1989, as Sarah Berthelot) is a Canadian curler from Moncton, New Brunswick. She currently skips her own team. Career In her junior years, Mallais represented New Brunswick at the 2007 Canada Games. The team narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing with a 3–2 record. She also represented NB at the 2006 Canadian Junior Curling Championships where the team went 5–6. Mallais lost the final of the 2009 provincial championship as second for Mary Jane McGuire. She played in the 2010 Sobeys Slam as lead for the Melissa Adams rink. They won no games and finished 0–3 in the triple knockout. Skipping her own team in 2016, she lost in the semifinal of the 2016 New Brunswick Scotties Tournament of Hearts to former teammate Adams.
