Katie Cook (writer)
Katie Cook is an American comic artist and writer, currently employed by IDW Publishing. She writes the '' My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'' comic and is also known for her webcomics, ''Gronk'' and ''Nothing Special''. Early life Katie Cook was born in Saline, Michigan on December 9, 1981. Cook grew up in Saline, Michigan and graduated from Saline High School in 2000. She graduated from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, with BFA in Illustration in 2004. Cook created her title character of ''Gronk: A Monster’s Story'' during her time in college. Career She has worked on licensed properties for Marvel Comics on a variety of projects. She also worked with the Jim Henson Company, working on the comics of ''Fraggle Rock'' and working as an illustrator and writer on '' Jim Henson's The Storyteller.'' Saline, Michigan
Saline ( ') is a city in Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 8,948 at the 2020 census. The city borders Saline Township to the southwest, and the two are administered autonomously. History Before the 18th century, Native Americans traveled to what is now Saline to hunt wildlife and gather salt from the salt springs they found nearby. In the 18th century, French explorers canoed up to the area and also harvested the salt. They named the local river ''Saline'' ("salty"). Europeans settled the area in the 19th century, most of them from England and Germany. Together with Orange Risdon, a government surveyor generally considered the city's founder, the residents named the town Saline, which was officially established in 1832. Alibris is an online store that sells new books, used books, out-of-print books, rare books, and other media through an online network of independent booksellers. History Martin Manley founded Alibris in 1997 with the team behind early online book marketplace Interloc, which Alibris purchased.
