Kathy Lie
Kathy Lie (born 14 March 1964) is a Norwegian nurse and politician for the Socialist Left Party. She has been a member of the Storting since 2021. Biography Born on 14 March 1964, Lie hails from Lier, and is a nurse by education. Following the 2019 Norwegian local election, Lie became deputy county mayor of the newly established Viken county. She resigned from this position when she was elected to the Storting. She was succeeded by fellow party member, Camilla Sørensen Eidsvold. She was elected representative to the Storting from the constituency of Buskerud for the period 2021–2025, for the Socialist Left Party. Storting
The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". Buskerud (Storting Constituency)
Buskerud is one of the 19 multi-member constituencies of the Storting, the national legislature of Norway. The constituency was established in 1921 following the introduction of proportional representation for elections to the Storting. It consists of the municipalities of Ål, Drammen, Flå, Gol, Hemsedal, Hol, Hole, Jevnaker, Kongsberg, Krødsherad, Lier, Modum, Nesbyen, Nore og Uvdal, Øvre Eiker, Ringerike, Rollag and Sigdal in the county of Viken. Viken County Municipality ( no, Viken fylkeskommune) is the democratically elected regional governing administration of Viken county in Norway. Roger Ryberg
Roger Ryberg (born 16 April 1952 in Kirkenes) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He has held the position as county mayor of Viken since 2020. He previously served as county mayor of Buskerud from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2019. Following the 2007 election, Ryberg became the new county mayor (''fylkesordfører'') of Buskerud. Behind him was a coalition of the Labour Party, the Socialist Left Party, the Centre Party and the Liberal Party, who kept the right-wing candidate Mette Lund Stake at bay with 22 versus 21 votes in the county council. Lier, Norway
Lier is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lierbyen. The municipality of Lier was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area Åssiden was transferred from Lier to the neighboring municipality of Drammen on 1 July 1951. 2019 Norwegian Local Election
Local elections were held in Norway on 9 September 2019. Voters elected representatives to municipal and county councils, which are responsible for education, public transport, health, and elderly care, and for the levy of certain taxes. The local election was the first since the consolidation of municipalities and counties, reducing the number of counties from 19 to 11, and number of municipalities from 429 to 356. Despite the formal date of the mergers being 1 January 2020, the election proceeded with the new borders and divisions as the term of office began the same day.
