Kathy Fiscus
Kathryn Anne Fiscus (August 21, 1945 – April 8, 1949) was a three-year-old girl who died after falling into a well in San Marino, California. The attempted rescue, broadcast live on KTLA, was a landmark event in American television history. Biography On the afternoon of April 8, 1949, Kathy was playing with her nine-year-old sister, Barbara, and cousin, Gus, in a field in San Marino when she fell down the shaft of an abandoned water well. Her father, David, worked for the California Water and Telephone Co., which had drilled the well in 1903. He had recently testified before the state legislature for a proposed law that would require the cementing of all old wells. Within hours, a major rescue effort was underway with "drills, derricks, bulldozers, and trucks from a dozen towns, three giant cranes, and 50 floodlights from Hollywood studios." At one point a rope was lowered to her but she could not maintain her hold on it and fell even further down the well.

Death Of Rayan Oram
On 1 February 2022, five-year-old Moroccan boy Rayan Aourram (; ) fell into a dry well in Ighran village in Tamorot commune, Chefchaouen Province, Morocco. Rescue attempts were delayed by the narrow well and fragile ground. A separate trench was dug to access the bottom of the well, although when rescuers reached Aourram on 5 February it was discovered that he had died. Background The mountainous region where the accident took place is located in the vicinity of Chefchaouen, in the Rif region of Northern Morocco, a region known for cannabis cultivation, which constitutes a main income resource for many poor families. This plant requires copious amounts of water to grow, especially the imported hybrid varieties, as opposed to the local '' kif'' hashish, whose cultivation can rely solely on rainwater. This is why locals dig deep wells, which need to be deep enough to reach the progressively drying underground waters. These wells are usually covered to prevent falling accident ...

Jessica McClure
Jessica McClure Morales (born March 26, 1986; widely known as "Baby Jessica" in 1987) fell into a well in her aunt's backyard in Midland, Texas, on October 14, 1987, at the age of 18 months. Over the next 56 hours, rescuers worked to successfully free her from the well casing, approximately below grade. The story garnered worldwide attention and was later featured in the 1989 ABC television movie '' Everybody's Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure''. Rescue The incident occurred in Midland, Texas, where firemen and police developed a plan to drill a parallel shaft to the well where Jessica was lodged—and drill another horizontal cross-tunnel to rescue her. Alfredo Rampi
Alfredo Rampi, nicknamed Alfredino (little Alfredo) (April 11, 1975 – June 13, 1981), was an Italian child who died after falling into a well in Vermicino, a village near Frascati, on 10 June 1981. The incident Around 19:00 on 10 June 1981, Alfredo was a 6 year-old boy out on a walk with his family. When the family decided to return home, he asked his parents if he could walk alone and as the child wandered by himself he fell into an artesian well which was very narrow and deep (about 30 cm wide and 80 m deep). His position, on arrival of the first rescuers, was estimated at around 36 m below ground level. The first rescuers were the local firefighters, who initially tried to lower a simple tablet attached to a rope. The hope was that Alfredo could grab the tablet and hold on to it as the men would pull him out. However, the tablet got stuck before it could reach the child and they weren't even able to pull back out said object because the rope tore. Next, 3 speleolo ...

Floyd Collins
William Floyd Collins (July 20, 1887 – February 13, 1925) was an American cave explorer, principally in a region of Kentucky that houses hundreds of miles of interconnected caves, today a part of Mammoth Cave National Park, the longest known cave system in the world. In the early 20th century, in an era known as the Kentucky Cave Wars, spelunkers and property owners entered into bitter competition to exploit the bounty of caves for commercial profit from tourists, who paid to see the caves. In 1917 and 1918, Collins discovered and commercialized Great Crystal Cave in the Flint Ridge Cave System, but the cave was remote and visitors were few. Collins had an ambition to find another cave he could open to the public closer to the main roads, and entered into an agreement with a neighbor to open up Sand Cave, a small cave on the neighbor's property. On January 30, 1925, while working to enlarge the small passage in Sand Cave, Collins became trapped in a narrow crawlway be ...
