Katalin Rényi
Katalin Rényi (; 19 May 1951 – 29 August 2023) was a Hungarian painter and graphic designer. Life and career Rényi was born in Budapest on 19 May 1951. Her father was film director Tamás Rényi, whom she described as strict and critical. She was raised by her grandmother, and she attended the Secondary School of Fine and Applied Arts from 1965 to 1969. She graduated from the Hungarian University of Arts and Design (now the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in 1975 with a degree in graphic design. After graduating, she began a twenty-year career in advertisement design, specializing in movie posters. Rényi married fellow artist in 1976. They had a son, Balázs, in 1978, and a daughter, Barbara, in 1984. Both children went on to become graphic artists and filmmakers. Tamás Rényi (29 May 1929 – 28 July 1980) was a Hungarian film director. He directed 30 films between 1953 and 1980. His 1963 film ''Tales of a Long Journey'' was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Silver Prize. His daughter was artist Katalin Rényi. The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design ( Hungarian: Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem , MOME), former Hungarian University of Arts and Design, is located in Budapest, Hungary. Named after László Moholy-Nagy, the university offers programs in art, architecture, designer and visual communication. History The predecessor of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, the Hungarian Royal National School of Arts and Crafts, was founded in 1880 and operated under this name until 1944. Like other European Art Colleges, it evolved from a handicraft industry school, the Model Drawing School. Hungarian Order Of Merit
The Hungarian Order of Merit () is the fourth highest State Order of Hungary. Founded in 1991, the order is a revival of an original order founded in 1946 and abolished in 1949. Its origins, however, can be traced to the Order of Merit of the Kingdom of Hungary which existed from 1922 until 1946. In 2011 its official name changed from Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary to Hungarian Order of Merit in accordance with the new Hungarian Constitution.
