Grammy Gold () is a Thai record label and a subsidiary of GMM Grammy that focuses on luk thung and mor lam music genre. Its current managing director is Krij Thomas. History Grammy Gold was founded in 1995 by Paiboon Damrongchaitham with the desire to create a distinct luk thung label out of Thai pop, which happens to be the main music genre of GMM Grammy. Mike Phiromphon is considered to be the first artist under the said record label. The record label has produced some notable milestones such as selling 1 million copies in 2002 of Tai Orathai's studio album entitled ''Grass Flowers in City'' () and in 2012 with Yinglee Srijumpol's single "Your Heart for My Phone Number" () which topped the Thai music charts and earned 217 million views on YouTube as of April 2014. Luk thung (, , ) is a genre of Thai music that emerged after World War II in the Central Thailand, central region of Thailand. The genre was derived from phleng Thai sakon, and developed in the early-20th century. Suphan Buri in particular became the center of ''luk thung'' music, producing many major artists, including Suraphol Sombatcharoen, and Pumpuang Duangjan. The genre has been prominently popularized in the northeastern region, having from its beginnings drawn upon northeastern ''mor lam'' musical traditions and the northeastern Isan language.
