Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Nondescripts Cricket Club (also known by its initials NCC) is a first-class cricket team based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The team plays at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground. History The club was founded in 1888. The name "Nondescripts" is derived from the fact it was intended to be open to anyone, unlike other Colombo-based clubs at the time such as Sinhalese Sports Club, Moors Sports Club and Tamil Union Cricket & Athletic Club which were aligned with a particular ethnic group. 2018–19 Premier Limited Overs Tournament
The 2018–19 Premier Limited Overs Tournament was a List A cricket competition that took place in Sri Lanka. It was the eighteenth edition of the Premier Limited Overs Tournament. The tournament ran from 4 to 19 March 2019. Sinhalese Sports Club were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage matches, Colombo Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club, Nondescripts Cricket Club, Panadura Sports Club, Ragama Cricket Club, Saracens Sports Club, Sinhalese Sports Club and Sri Lanka Army Sports Club had all progressed to the quarterfinals. Colombo Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club, Saracens Sports Club and Sinhalese Sports Club all won their quarterfinal matches. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. 2019–20 Premier League Tournament
The 2019–20 Premier League Tournament was the 32nd season of first-class cricket in Sri Lanka's Premier Trophy. The tournament started on 31 January 2020 and was originally scheduled to conclude on 12 April 2020. Fourteen teams took part in the competition, split into two groups of seven. Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club were relegated at the end of the previous tournament, with Lankan Cricket Club replacing them in this tournament after they gained promotion from Tier B. Colombo Cricket Club were the defending champions. On 16 March 2020, following the conclusion of the group stage fixtures, Sri Lanka Cricket postponed the rest of the tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
