Kassian Cephas
Kassian Cephas or Kassian Céphas (15 January 1845 – 16 November 1912) was a Javanese people, Javanese photographer of the court of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. He was the first indigenous person from Indonesia to become a professional photographer and was trained at the request of Sultan Hamengkubuwana VI (r. 1855–1877). After becoming a court photographer in as early 1871, he began working on portrait photography for members of the royal family, as well as documentary work for the Dutch East Indies, Dutch Archaeological Union ('). Cephas was recognized for his contributions to preserving Java's cultural heritage through membership in the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies and an honorary gold medal of the Order of Orange-Nassau. Collotype is a gelatin-based photographic process, photographic printing process invented by Alphonse Poitevin in 1855 to print images in a wide variety of Tone (color), tones without the need for Halftone, halftone screens. The majority of collotypes were produced between the 1870s and 1920s. It was the first form of photolithography. Invention Collotype originates from the Greek word ''kolla'' for (flour paste) glue. Royal Batavian Society Of Arts And Sciences
The Royal Batavian Society of Arts and Sciences (, 1778–1962) was a Dutch learned society in Batavia (now Jakarta, Indonesia). The society was founded in 1778 by naturalist Jacob Cornelis Matthieu Radermacher as the ''Bataviaasch Genootschap der Kunsten en Wetenschappen'' (Batavian Society of Arts and Sciences) and granted the '' Koninklijk'' status and thus assumed its current name in 1910. Taman Sari (Yogyakarta)
Taman Sari Water Castle, also known as Taman Sari (Javanese language, Javanese: ), is the site of a former royal garden of the Yogyakarta Sultanate, Sultanate of Yogyakarta. It is located about 2 km south within the grounds of the Kraton (Indonesia), Kraton, Yogyakarta (city), Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Built in the mid-18th century, the Taman Sari had multiple functions, such as a resting area, a workshop, a meditation area, a defense area, and a hiding place.
