The Kassel Marathon (official name until 2016: E.ON Kassel Marathon, as of 2017: EAM Kassel Marathon) is a marathon which has taken place every year in Kassel since its inception in 2007. It is the third fastest marathon in Germany and split over 3 days. Kassel
Kassel (; in Germany, spelled Cassel until 1926) is a city on the Fulda River in northern Hesse, Germany. It is the administrative seat of the Regierungsbezirk Kassel and the district of the same name and had 201,048 inhabitants in December 2020. The former capital of the state of Hesse-Kassel has many palaces and parks, including the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kassel is also known for the ''documenta'' exhibitions of contemporary art. Fulda (river)
The Fulda () is a river of Hesse and Lower Saxony, Germany. It is one of two headstreams of the Weser (the other one being the Werra). The Fulda is long. The river arises at Wasserkuppe in the Rhön mountains in Hesse. From there it runs northeast, flanked by the Knüll mountains in the west and the Seulingswald in the east. Near Bebra it changes direction to the northwest. After joining the Eder river it flows straight north until Kassel, then changes direction to the northeast, with the Kaufungen Forest east and the beginning of the Reinhardswald forest northwest. The north end of the river meets the Werra in Hannoversch Münden, Lower Saxony, where the Fulda and the Werra join to form the Weser river. Caroline Kwambai
Caroline Chepkorir Kwambai (born 9 September 1975) is a Kenyan former long-distance runner who competed in road running competitions. Her greatest international honour was a team gold at the 2001 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, where she finished twelfth. She also won a team gold as a junior athlete at the 1990 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. She holds a marathon personal best of 2:28:47 hours, set during her runner-up finish at the 2003 Amsterdam Marathon. Kwambai was a frequent competitor in European road races and won several high profile half marathons, including: the Paris Half Marathon, Prague Half Marathon, Great Scottish Run and Zwolle Half Marathon. Simret is a ''tabia'' or municipality in the Tanqua Millash woreda of the Tigray Region, Ethiopia, which comprises the longest cave of Tigray in Zeyi, as well as Ras Alula’s birthplace in Mennewe. The ''tabia'' centre is in Dengolo village. Until January 2020, Simret belonged to the Dogu'a Tembien district. Geography The ''tabia'' occupies a massive ridge at the southwest of Dogu’a Tembien, between the Zeyi gorge and the large amphitheatre-like valley of Mennewe, through which the main road winds from the lowlands to the Tembien highlands. Kiprotich is a Kalenjin name, common in parts of Kenya and Uganda inhabited by the Kalenjin people. It stems from the term "Rot Tich" which means cattle moving in from pasture which is between 5 PM and 6 PM.
