Karsten Stolz
Karsten Stolz (23 July 1964 – 3 May 2025) was a West German shot putter. Career Stolz represented the sports club TV Wattenscheid, and became West German champion in 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. His personal best throw was 21.15 metres, achieved in September 1988 in Essen Essen () is the central and, after Dortmund, second-largest city of the Ruhr, the largest urban area in Germany. Its population of makes it the fourth-largest city of North Rhine-Westphalia after Cologne, Düsseldorf and Dortmund, as well as .... Stolz was 2.08 metres tall, and during his active career he weighed 142 kg. On 3 May 2025, Karsten died aged 60. Oberhausen (, ) is a city on the river Emscher in the Ruhr Area, Germany, located between Duisburg and Essen ( ). 1987 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 1st IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held in Indianapolis, United States from March 6 to March 8, 1987. The championship had previously been known as the World Indoor Games, which were held once before changing the name. Being the second championship of its kind, there were several championship records. New championship records were set for every single women's event.
