Karol Olszewski
Karol Stanisław Olszewski (Polish pronunciation: ; 29 January 1846 – 24 March 1915) was a Polish chemist, mathematician, and physicist. Together with Zygmunt Wróblewski, in 1883 he was the first scientist in the world to liquify oxygen and nitrogen. Life and career He was born in 1846 in Broniszów. He was a graduate of Kazimierz Brodziński High School in Tarnów (I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Kazimierza Brodzińskiego). He studied at Kraków's Jagiellonian University in the departments of mathematics and physics, and chemistry and biology. He carried out his first experiments using a personally improved compressor, compressing and condensing carbon dioxide. Olszewski defended his doctoral dissertation at Heidelberg University, then returned to Kraków, where he was made ''profesor nadzwyczajny'' (associate professor). Marian Danysz
Marian Danysz (March 17, 1909 – February 9, 1983) was a Polish physicist, Professor of Physics at Warsaw University. Son of Jan Kazimierz Danysz. Jerzy Pniewski
Jerzy Pniewski (Polish: ; June 1, 1913 – June 16, 1989) was a Polish physicist, professor at the University of Warsaw and a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is best known for discovering the hypernucleus together with Marian Danysz in 1952. Life and career Pniewski was born in 1913 in Płock, Congress Poland. He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Warsaw. He served as Director at the Institute of Experimental Physics of the University of Warsaw between 1953–1958 and 1962–1975 and subsequently as Head of the Department of Physics from 1975 to 1981. Marian Smoluchowski
Marian Smoluchowski (; 28 May 1872 – 5 September 1917) was a Polish physicist who worked in the territories of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He was a pioneer of statistical physics and made significant contributions to the theory of Brownian motion and stochastic processes. Smoluchowski graduated in physics from the University of Vienna in 1895 before becoming a '' privatdozent'' at the University of Lemberg three years later. The Church of Saints Apostles Peter and Paul () is a Roman Catholic Polish Baroque church located at 52a Grodzka Street in the Old Town district of Kraków, Poland. It was built between by Giovanni Maria Bernardoni who perfected the original design of Józef Britius. It is the biggest of the historic Churches of Kraków in terms of seating capacity. Rakowicki Cemetery (English: ; ) is a historic necropolis and a cultural heritage monument located on 26 Rakowicka Street in Kraków, Poland.
