Karmyn Tyler (kærmɪn taɪlər) (born October 12, 1974) is an American singer and beauty pageant contestant who, as Miss Louisiana, represented her state at Miss America 1996 in September 1995. She was not a finalist but won a talent award for her operatic aria ''"Tu che di gel sei cinta"''. Texarkana College is a public community college in Texarkana, Texas. History Texarkana College was formed in 1927, as a branch of the Texarkana Independent School District, which voted to proceed with plans for establishment of a community college. Its first building was located at the corner of 16th and Pine Streets, and contained classrooms, laboratories, and a gymnasium, the latter two of which were used by both the college and the high school. In 1941, the citizens of Texarkana voted to create a separate Texarkana College District, complete with approval of a $20 Mill rate, mill property tax to fund the District. Miss Louisiana
The Miss Louisiana competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Louisiana in the Miss America pageant. Although no delegate from Louisiana has ever won the Miss America title, four have placed 1st runner-up. As of 2022, Louisiana is the lone member of the Confederacy during the Civil War which has not produced a Miss America. The pageant is held the last week of June at the W. L. Jack Howard Theatre, named for the late Mayor W. L. "Jack" Howard and located in downtown Monroe adjacent to the Civic Center. The 2018 pageant was the fifty-fifth to have been held in Monroe.
