Karma Donnen Wangdi
Karma Donnen Wangdi () is a Bhutanese politician who was Minister for Information and Communication from November 2018 until the abolition of the ministry in 2023. He was a member of the National Assembly of Bhutan from October 2018 to November 2023. Previously he was the member of the National Council of Bhutan from 2008 to 2013. Early life and education Wangdi was born on . He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Sherubtse College, Bhutan. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in IT from the MCMIS, the Netherlands. Political career Wangdi is a member of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT). He was elected to the National Council of Bhutan from Sarpang in the Bhutanese National Council election, 2008. He was elected to the National Assembly of Bhutan in the 2018 elections for the Sarpang-Gelegphu constituency. He received 6,691 votes and defeated Pema Tashi, a candidate of DPT. 2018 Bhutanese National Assembly Election
National Assembly elections were held in Bhutan in 2018; the first round was held on 15 September and the second round on 18 October. The ruling People's Democratic Party of former Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay came third in the first round of voting, unexpectedly failing to advance to the second round and resulting in it losing all 32 seats. The second round was a contest between the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa, the only other party with parliamentary representation, and the unrepresented Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, which received the most votes in the first round. Lotay Tshering
Dasho Dr. Lotay Tshering (; born 10 May 1969) is a Bhutanese politician and surgeon who was the prime minister of Bhutan, in office from 7 November 2018 to 1 November 2023. He was the president of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) since 14 May 2018 until he resigned in 2025. The president of DNT Dasho Dr. Lotay Tshering resigned from the party and politics ending his 11-year political career. Dasho was appointed as the Governor of GMC at Dungkar Dzong in Paro on 1 October 2024 following a recommendation from the Board of Directors of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
