Karl McKeegan
Karl McKeegan (born 1978) is an Irish former hurler who played as a centre-back at senior level for the Antrim county team. Playing career McKeegan began his hurling career at juvenile and underage levels with the Ruairí Óg club in Cushendall. He was still eligible for the minor grade when he joined the club's senior team in 1995. McKeegan spent over 20 years lining out for the senior team, during which time he won five Ulster SCHC titles and seven Antrim SHC titles. He ended his club career after a defeat by Na Piarsaigh in the 2016 All-Ireland club final. McKeegan first appeared on the inter-county scene at underage level with Antrim and won two Ulster MHC titles and three Ulster U21HC titles. He joined the senior team in 2002 and won ten consecutive Ulster SHC medals during a ten-year career. McKeegan captained Antrim to the Christy Ring Cup title in 2006. Ruairí Óg GAC
Ruairí Óg Gaelic Athletic Club, also known as Ruairí Óg and Cushendall is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Cushendall, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with the game of hurling. The club was founded in 1906 and is named after Ruairí Óg Ó Mórdha (c. 1600 – 1655), who led the Catholic side in the Irish Rebellion of 1641. In senior hurling Ruairí Óg compete annually in the Antrim Senior Club Hurling Championship, which they have won 14 times as of 2018. The club also competes in various other championships in all grades within Antrim. The 2015 Antrim Senior Hurling Championship was the 115th staging of the Antrim Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Antrim County Board in 1901. The championship began on 29 August 2015 and ended on 27 September 2015. The championship was won by Ruairí Óg, Cushendall who secured the title following a 2–16 to 1–15 defeat of McQuillan Ballycastle in the final. 2014 Antrim Senior Hurling Championship
The 2014 Antrim Senior Hurling Championship is the 114th staging of the Antrim Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Antrim County Board in 1901. The championship began on 3 August 2013. Loughgiel Shamrocks were the reigning champions, however, they were defeated in the quarter-final stage. Ruairí Óg, Cushendall won the title following a 1–15 to 1–5 defeat of St Gall's in the final at Páirc Mac Uílín. Commonly the finals take place at Antrim's county stadium, Casement Park, however due to the grounds ongoing developments the 2014 final was held at Páirc Mac Uílín in Ballycastle. Armagh Senior Hurling Team
The Armagh county hurling team represents Armagh GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association, in the Gaelic sport of hurling. The team competes in the Nicky Rackard Cup and the National Hurling League. Armagh's home ground is Athletic Grounds, Armagh. The team's manager is Karl McKeegan. All-Ireland Under-20 Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling Under-20 All-Ireland Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in Ireland. The championship was contested as the All-Ireland Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019.
