Karl Martin Sinijärv
Karl Martin Sinijärv (born 4 June 1971) is an Estonian journalist and poet. Sinijärv was born in Tallinn. By 2011, he had published 8 poetry books and a cookbook. His poetry has been characterized as etnofuturist, bringing estrangement of language to the brink of self-parody. Sinijärv's first book of poems was published in 1989 in a collection with three other poetry books by Tõnu Trubetsky, Ringo Ringvee and Märt Väljataga. Sinijärv has written numerous articles in media. He has also been the anchor of culture shows "OP!" and "Jüri Üdi klubi" in Estonian public television channel Eesti Televisioon for more than 10 years. Sinijärv was the chairman of the Estonian Writers' Union from 2007–2016. Karl Martin Sinijärv is the son of politician and diplomat Riivo Sinijärv. Erni Hiir (real name Ernst Hiir; 29 March 1900, in Karjatnurme, Kreis Fellin – 27 October 1989) was an Estonian poet and translator. From 1921 to 1922 he studied at the University of Tartu. From 1927, he was a member of Estonian Writers' Union. When Estonia was occupied in 1940, he was loyal to the Soviet authorities. From 1945 to 1960, he was the executive secretary of the Tartu branch of the Writers' Union. Futurism (literature)
Futurism is a modernist avant-garde movement in literature and part of the Futurism art movement that originated in Italy in the early 20th century. It made its official literature debut with the publication of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti's ''Manifesto of Futurism'' (1909). Futurist poetry is characterised by unexpected combinations of images and by its hyper-concision (in both economy of speech and actual length). Futurist theatre also played an important role within the movement and is distinguished by scenes that are only a few sentences long, an emphasis on nonsensical humour, and attempts to examine and subvert traditions of theatre via parody and other techniques.
