Karl Gouder
Karl Gouder (15 May 1979 – 10 September 2024) was a Maltese politician, elected as a member for the Nationalist Party. Political life Gouder was first elected to St Julian's local council in 2005. Three years later, he contested both general and local elections, failing to be elected mayor by 10 votes. In April 2010, aged 30, Gouder entered the Parliament of Malta via a casual election to replace the Speaker Louis Galea who retired from Parliament to serve at the European Court of Auditors, serving until the 2013 elections. Gouder was the first openly gay person to serve as MP in Malta, and the youngest MP in the then-ruling coalition. Following the 2015 local elections, where PN obtained 60.51% of votes in San Ġiljan, Gouder was elected mayor of the locality. Angelo Farrugia
Angelo "Anġlu" Farrugia (born 29 December 1955) is a Maltese politician and the current Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta. Previously he served Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, a Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for work, workers' rights and parliamentary affairs. Family Farrugia was born in Mosta and is married to Carmen née Zammit and they have a daughter, Caroline, a current Magistrate within the judiciary of Malta. Political life Prior to entering politics, Farrugia had served from 1977 to 1996 as a police officer reaching the rank of Superintendent. Roberta Metsola (; ; born 18 January 1979) is a Malta, Maltese politician who has served as the president of the European Parliament since January 2022. She is a member of Malta's Nationalist Party (Malta), Nationalist Party (PN) and the European People's Party (EPP). Myriam Spiteri Debono
Myriam Spiteri Debono (born 25 October 1952) is a Maltese politician who is the 11th and current President of Malta. She is the first Gozo, Gozitan woman to be elected to the position. She was also the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta from 1996 to 1998, the first woman to hold that position. Early life and career Spiteri Debono was born Miriam Zammit in Victoria, Malta, Victoria, Gozo, to Pawlu Zammit and his wife. Robert Abela (born 7 December 1977) is a Maltese lawyer and politician who has served as prime minister of Malta and leader of the Malta Labour Party since 2020. The son of former president George Abela, he was elected to Parliament in 2017. Abela was sworn in as prime minister following the resignation of Joseph Muscat on 13 January 2020.
