Karen Poole is an English songwriter and singer based in London. She is best known for her extensive songwriting collaborations with musicians such as Kylie Minogue, Becky Hill, David Guetta, Lily Allen, Sugababes, Zara Larsson, Tiesto, Alesso, Sonny Fodera, Chase & Status, Rita Ora, Fatboy Slim, Sub Focus, Katy B, and many more. Career Karen Poole was born in Chadwell Heath, London, and is the daughter of Brian Poole, lead vocalist of the 1960s band The Tremeloes. Karen, along with her sister Shelly Poole, was a founding member of the pop duo Alisha's Attic. The group gained significant success in the 1990s and early 2000s, particularly in the United Kingdom and Europe. Chadwell Heath is an area in East London, England. It is split between the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and the London Borough of Redbridge, around west of Romford and east of Ilford, and north-east of Charing Cross. History Toponymy The name 'Chadwell' was first recorded in 1254 as ''Chaudewell'' and means 'the cold spring'. The name was first applied to a settlement on the Barking, London, Barking (later Ilford) side of the ancient boundary between Dagenham and Barking and it was also known as Chadwell Street, 'Street' having the older meaning of a hamlet. In the 17th century the Blackheath Common in Dagenham parish was renamed Chadwell Heath. As the settlements merged the Chadwell Street name was lost in favour of Chadwell Heath. Chase & Status are an English electronic music duo composed of Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status). In addition, Andy Gangadeen is the drummer when the band performs live. MC Rage formerly performed as MC with the group, but left in July 2021 to focus on solo ventures. The duo are from London, and formed in 2003 after meeting at university in Manchester. The Tremeloes (formerly Brian Poole and The Tremeloes) are an English beat group founded in 1958 in Dagenham, England. They initially found success in the British Invasion era with lead singer Brian Poole, scoring a UK chart-topper in 1963 with "Do You Love Me". The band achieved their greatest success after Poole's departure in 1966. The band reformed as a four-piece that year with Chip Hawkes on bass, Rick Westwood on lead guitar, Alan Blakley, Alan Blakely on rhythm guitar, and Dave Munden on drums.
