Karen Chance is an American novelist. She grew up in Orlando, Florida. She has lived in France, Great Britain, Hong Kong and New Orleans, where she has taught history. She is currently living in Florida. She has been a full time author since 2008. Chance has had books on the ''New York Times'' and ''USA Today'' bestselling lists. Chance's Cassandra Palmer series follows ghost whisperer/clairvoyant Cassie Palmer, as she learns what it is to be the Pythia, the chief seer of the supernatural world. The somatosensory system, or somatic sensory system is a subset of the sensory nervous system. The main functions of the somatosensory system are the perception of external stimuli, the perception of internal stimuli, and the regulation of body position and balance (proprioception).
