Karell Émard
Karell Émard is a Canadian former ice hockey forward, who last played with the Montréal section of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). Known for her two-way play and skills as a faceoff specialist, she won the Clarkson Cup in 2017 with Les Canadiennes de Montréal. She is currently an Analyst for Réseau des sports (RDS) and a Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Agent for Collective Pivot. Career Émard began playing hockey at the age of four, playing on boys' teams throughout most of her teenage years. When she was 17, she played a handful of games for the Montreal Axion in the original National Women's Hockey League. Marieville, Quebec
Marieville () is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec. It is located within the Rouville Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region about east of Montreal. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 11,332. History In 1708, Sieur Claude de Ramezey obtained a parcel of land which was named the Monnoir manor. 2020–21 PWHPA Season
The 2020–21 PWHPA season was the second season organized by the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). Formed after the collapse of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) in 2019, the PWHPA consists of over 150 women's ice hockey players boycotting the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) and working towards the establishment of a new, unified women's professional league. For the 2020–21 season, the PWHPA organized into five different training hubs, each of which fielded a roster that competing in exhibition games across North America and in the Dream Gap Tour tournament. CWHL
The Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL; ) was a women's ice hockey league. Established in 2007 as a Canadian women's senior league in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Ottawa, the league expanded into Alberta (2011) and internationally in the United States (2010) and China (2017) throughout its tenure. The league discontinued operations on May 1, 2019, after 12 seasons. PWHPA
The Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for the promotion of professional women's ice hockey. It was founded in May 2019 following the dissolution of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. PWHPA members expressed dissatisfaction with the operations of the existing professional National Women's Hockey League (renamed the Premier Hockey Federation in 2021) and vowed to boycott existing women's leagues and to work towards the establishment of a unified, financially sustainable professional league.
