Karel Josef Adolf
Karel Josef Adolf also as Adolph (1715–1771) was a Czech painter, restorer and valet in the service of the Olomouc bishops. Biography He was a member of a large family of painters. His father Josef František Adolf (around 1685–1762) worked as court painter of the Mikulov Ditrichštejn and Milotice Serényi aristocratic families. However, the best-known of the whole family was Karl Josef's younger brother, František Adolf of Freenthal (1721–1773). Karel Josef was born during his father's stay at the Milotice chateau, probably on September 4, 1715, since we know he was baptized that day. We know nothing about the education of young Adolf, we can only assume that he received his first painting training from his father and that perhaps as his younger brother he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Olomouc

Mikulov
Mikulov (; ) is a town in Břeclav District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 7,600 inhabitants. From the 16th to the 19th century, it was the cultural centre of the Jewish community of Moravia. Milotice () is a municipality and village in Hodonín District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,900 inhabitants. It is known for the Milotice Castle, which is protected as a national cultural monument. Geography Milotice is located about north of Hodonín and southeast of Brno. It lies in a flat landscape of the Lower Morava Valley. In the eastern part of the municipality is located the fishpond Písečný rybník, protected as a nature reserve. History The first written mention of Milotice is from 1341. A fortress in Milotice was first mentioned in 1360. The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna () is a public art school in Vienna, Austria. Founded in 1688 as a private academy, it is now a public university. The academy is also known for twice rejecting admission to a young Adolf Hitler in 1907 and 1908. Kroměříž Castle
Kroměříž Castle ( or ''Arcibiskupský zámek'', ) is a castle in Kroměříž in the Czech Republic. It used to be the principal residence of the bishops and (from 1777) archbishops of Olomouc. UNESCO listed the gardens and castle as a World Heritage Site in 1998 because of its exceptionally well-preserved and outstanding Baroque gardens. History The town was owned by the bishops from the 13th century. During the Hussite wars they lost control, and regained it only in the 1470s. This prompted the replacement of the castle with a more comfortable residence by bishop Stanislav I Thurzo in 1500. The building was in the late Gothic style, with a modicum of Renaissance detail. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle was sacked by the Swedish army (1643). It was not until 1664 that a bishop from the powerful Lichtenstein-Kastelkorn family charged architect Filiberto Lucchese with renovating the palace in a Baroque style.
