Karel Beyers
Karel Beyers (12 March 1943 – 3 April 2020) was a Belgian association football, footballer who played as a Midfielder#Winger, right winger. Career Born in Brasschaat, Beyers played for Verbroedering Brasschaat and Royal Antwerp F.C., Royal Antwerp. He also earned 1 cap for the Belgium national football team, Belgium national team in 1964. Later life and death Beyers later served on Antwerp's board of directors. He also served as managing director and chairman of the family coffee business, Koffie Beyers. He died on 3 April 2020, aged 77. Brasschaat
Brasschaat () is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Brasschaat proper. In November 2006, Brasschaat won the LivCom-Award 2006 for the most livable municipality in the world. History Origins The history of Brasschaat started with Celtic settlements. The Gallic tribe of the Belgae displaced them and were in turn conquered by the Romans, who built a major road in the area. After the Germanic invasions in the 3rd and 4th century, the whole region was Christianized. In the Middle Ages the little river Laar, flowing through the woods of the municipality, served as a natural bordermark between the Bishopric of Liège and the Bishopric of Cambrai. The Belgium national football team has represented Belgium in men's international Association football, football since Évence Coppée Trophy, their maiden match in 1904. Koffie Beyers
Gershon Koffie (born 25 August 1991) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Israeli club Maccabi Herzliya. Club career Youth career Koffie grew up in the Ghanaian capital Accra, and began his soccer career when he joined Rot-Weiss Accra - a development club affiliated with German club Rot-Weiss Essen - as a nine-year-old in 2000. He spent five years with Rot-Weiss Accra, before signing his first professional contract in 2006 with Ghanaian Division Two League team International Allies at the age of 15. Senior career Koffie played four full seasons with International Allies, scoring 28 goals in all competitions, before leaving the club in 2009 to try to secure a spot with a professional team in Europe.
